It is a bit disturbing, BUT.... executed amazingly well!

I say....TOP ROW!:tu: :)

I have instantly become an appreciator of your abilities.
Worth every moment you spent on it and presented well.

Astonishing and extraordinary! Quality all the way, from sculpting to presentation. The posing of the baby's hands is heart-wrenching. The top bar just got shifted upwards a few notches. :tu:

Excellent work! For crits, you could push the relief's even more, as it still looks like a relief. You can get even deeper cuts in zbrush. The area where I think this could use more definition is the right side. However It would be nice to see the original artwork, from Leonardo da Vinci?

This is textured?

Is this a Witkin or is it from La Specola? I know it from somewhere... Is it Leonardo?
Nice piece!. I really like the sepia tone. The baby's ear looks like it is still a bit swollen from the inflation. It might benefit from some attention.
Really nice image! Congrats

hi everyone, first off i want to thank everyone for the comments and critique, i`m real glad you liked my work and it reached top row. It`s an honour. Here are the answers to some of your questions ...

Mr.Monster - PS What was this for???
for fun, i just liked it for the feeling it conveyed and as a concept.

voodoomonkey - You projected the details right?
yes some of the details are projected

womball -However It would be nice to see the original artwork
here`s the original

abraXas - how much polygons and subdivisions?
in zbrush the 6th subdivide showed a polycount of about 4 300 000

zeke3d - did you build the baby base mesh as is? or is it a mesh that you animated into that pose?
i used a light rig on the baby`s fingers

Scott Spencer - Is this a Witkin or is it from La Specola? I know it from somewhere... Is it Leonardo?

i don`t know for sure, but i think the original is Leonardo`s

original : original.jpg

see ya and thanks again

ok, you must have a good amount of RAM. where did you get the original picture? iīm asking because i donīt think itīs from leonardo, maybe iīm wrong. leonardo did many anatomical sketches, but this doesnīt look his style to me

Pure tallent nice one 5 starts from me.

Iv seen this a few times on here and wondered why some render in zbrush when they have the the likes or 3dsmax and xsi that offer much better rendering?

Very nice portfolio piece!

The subject alone will shock anyone who will see it, forcing the viewer to further explore the item whole.

Its very out of the ordinary, it works!

How much time did it take to execute this sculpture?

Great bit of Modelling! Though I wish I had never seen it, and think you should be punished for it somehow.

But perhaps revulsion is better than no reaction at all, from an artistic perspective. Or something.

Awesome work! 5 Stars from me as well. Great to see someone venturing into more inventive realms. Your work reminds of the Ron Mueck sculpture show I just saw a couple of days ago at the Brooklyn Museum. You may find his sculpture of a new born baby (was in the Brooklyn show) interesting as well. If you google him you will find lots of info. Good Luck

Why do people say this is disgusting, disturbing, etc. when it is simply reality? Just because you never see the femur doesn't mean it isn't there, etc. Maybe they are thinking about it from the cadaver point of view.

Excellent job!

Btw, the definition of embryo is from the moment of implantation until the end of the 8th week, whereafter it is instead called a fetus.
The art needs no criticism :tu:, but the title does.

Ah ha, found it! This piece is what made me want to learn ZBrush. There is something about this piece that blows me away. If time allows sometime soon I'd like to attempt one myself (a sculpt, not a baby, oh hell no).
