OK. :)

Take a look at these two ZScript:
1. la.txt (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1011401516uvf.txt)
2. lb.txt (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1011401650kbx.txt)

You can see I'm going for a basic, simple letter. Now, what do you think I should do for c? They need to be polymeshable, so I can't use ZSub/Cut. Thanks for your help. :)

And thanks to Kaz for providing the inspiriation for this. :)

Muvlo, I'm hardly one of the 'bright minds of modelling', but I'm not sure I understand, so I'm going to ask a probably stupid question...
Why wouldn't you just use something like Elefont, and bring in a fully-editable DXF letter form?
(I did say it would probably be a stupid question... )

Let us remember there are no stupid questions. (except for those that are not asked)

I assume these text scripts are an effort to stay 100% within ZBrush. Which is cool.

Scripting is getting alot like the graphics around here...look at this script! type thing. hee hee

Where am I???

A programmer's meeting or a gallery!?!? :D

I'm confused!

I will continue to use amorphium UNTIL I have 3D text within ZBrush that is polymesh, and can be produced from any font I have in my WNNT font folder in the same stable effortless manner as amorphium currently does. Coldhearted? Nah. Just honest.

I applaud all the efforts to that end though. Takes a lot of brainpower and patience. BRAVA! to you guys! :D :tu:

Hi Stonecutter. In general I would do something like that. However, there are some reasons why I can't do that in this case.

a) The need to be loaded with a ZScript. Demo users cannot load DFXs and OBJs. To get around this, Upham was nice enough to convert the files to ZTL. But:
b) Because the files are not native ZBrush objects, they can't be polymeshed from a MultiMarker tool.

So the way around this is to make the files in ZBrush. If they are short and simple, it should be no problem to replace the "Load Letters..." buttons in my Letter ZScript with these homemade ones.
Hope all that made sense. :)

Sorry, but you don't get to use up one of your -how many did Davey say you get? 1000?- stupid questions. ;)
:b3: Edit- You slipped in your post before me, Kathy. Well, as you can see above, there is a reason other than Zpurism for making it 100% ZBrush, so that the script can polymesh it.. :) I think it's so cool how ZScripts are providing yet another way of creating art in ZBrush. :)

i see your thery Muvlo but once you polymeshed your letter and save it as a .ZLT you can't polymesh it again with another letter when saved as a .ZLT.
you can do a sample by making TWO letters after you poloymesh Each and save as a .ZLT.
now open up both .zlt letters and multimark them and try and use polymesh them it wont work because you polymeshed them once.

Oooooooh...So That's it! Sorry Muvlo, I have to disagree...I think I have used up one of my stupid questions, due to my inability to see your reason for doing this...Philanthropy indeed, he says, as he slinks off embarrassed by his insensitivity!

Wait! Hold everything! Stop the...

Looking over Pix's axe tutorial gave me an idea. What if the MultiMarker tool was bypassed completely! Instead of the script putting a tool on the screen, placing a marker, etc., it could load it into the polymesh tool. Then the script would move that over a certain amount, say "Offset: 20". Then the combine function is used to add the next letter, and so on. A possibility anyway. The downside being it wouldn't work for Demo users. :(

You could make your letters like this and then you can use the mutimaker on them because they won't be polymeshed.
read my post to see. http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003393
good luck
