FULL RED DRAGON IMAGE finally complete!

I decided it was time to put some sort of composition together, and one style of art that interests me is fantasy, Also being Welsh means that the Red Dragon is my countries symbol.
This Beast was made using eighteen 3D spheres, my computer struggled when I first loaded them all up at the same time, and also having a RAM shortage ( 128MB) tested my patients. I must admit it wasn't easy getting the right contrast between the dragon Material and the rocks Material. I used texture master throughout this image, always finding that I apply to much colour and then backtracking to tone it down. I used the material pack to find the nearest Material to what I wanted for the rocks, then played with the Modifiers to get it right. Once the image was finished I used Photoshop to enhance the shadows, fog and smoke from the Red Dragons nostrals. This was a fun test for me, and I am pleased with the finish. I hope you enjoy!!

As Southern, myself, and others have indicated, you can do smoke and similar things without Photoshop...Do a final render in the size you want, create a new document the same size, import your image, and under Layer -> Modifiers, select fill...You now have your image in Z, and not only can you add smoke, flames, etc., but you also have all the brushes and tools of Z at your disposal!

oh yeah!!! this is fantastic. great modeling and texturing throughout the whole image. this is an amazing work of art. the wings are great and so is the expression on the dragon's face. looks like there were a coupla unlucky knights laying around that the dragon had for lunch. great image!
