Hello all,
Several people have asked how I make terrains and water planes.
I use Grayscale images then paint 'em.
I thought I'd upload some should anybody want to try this.
Load these as Alpha (Alt+A if you can't find it)
Apply [Alp] to Terrain or 3d Plane (for water or clouds) by selecting the appropriate Tool > Modifiers > Selection then hit the [Alp] button while the grayscale is in the Alpha channel.
Use the Tool > Modifiers > Deformers > Inflate and Noise or whatever you like - try all!
I made these 512x512 in the hopes that people using the Demo can try them also.

The quick result below uses grayscales for everything, waterplane, terrains, fog, sky, and planet...a silly image but I hope you see what these can do.

Here's a preview of the grayscales (17 in a 2.4 meg zip) - all 512x512 pixels.

Thank you Mr. Head!! ;)
Although I'm an independent creator myself, I think it's great that you choose to share these maps, as an aid to people who have less experience. :tu:
Aside from posting great images, you are also contributing to the artistic growth of others, and in my book, that makes you a valuable contributor to the success of this great forum! :tu:
