Hi!

I'm new to this forum and to ZBrush. I was wondering if someone could point me to some tutorials for beginners. I tried to do that axe and handle that I found under Quicklinks, but I haven't found all the buttons and gadgets yet. I did get the square to look round and have the blade, but I couldn't figure out make the cutouts happen. Thanks.

Kevin

The best tutorials for starting out are probably the ZScripted ones. They have the great advantage of showing you what is being pressed or adjusted while they run (provided Show Actions is turned on in the ZScript palette).

You'll find a bunch of tutorial scripts in the folders that came with ZBrush. Primers teach about the various tools and palettes. ZBrush Picnic puts it all together in one scene.

Another set of scripted tutorials are found at the bottom of the QuickLinks page. Save the scripts (they are text files) to your ZScripts folder to make them easier to find when you run them.

Hope that helps you out!

PS: A mighty big welcome to the family!

Hi Kevin and welcome to the forum! You have already found the quicklinks which is good. Meander through there and you will get a great understanding of how the program works. Also the new PDF manual that you can download at Pixologic will give you an in depth description of all the different aspects of things. If that is not enough to keep you busy for the next year I have a bunch of links and tutorials available on my Z-Place site, the link you can see in my signature. The trick is to take little bites and they will add up really quick!

Hope to see some of your work soon!

Obviously you received the answers you need (damn guys, slow down!! ;)

BUT I can give you a big hello and welcome!

You'll find alot of help here, quite a bit of humor, and a couple of nuts (we let them stay, cause they are entertaining)
