Hey there,

Zbrush is such a cool piece of software -- i've been working a lot lately and decided it was time to share a bit. :)

Over my career in 3D animation, doing mostly character animation and rigging, i've been able to work on a lot of great projects. All the while I have continued work as a generalist on my own projects, and over the last five years I feel i've really been able to accomplish a lot and some of my test projects created at home have been able to creep onto the company demo reel.

I've taken a bit of time here and there to update the gallery on my web site. It is now complete with almost all of my personal projects from 2001 to 2005. Since I am an animator at heart, all of the characters in the stills below can be seen animated as part of my testing process in the gallery on my site,

I've used Zbrush to model some of these characters, and just as a nice easy 3D paint tool on others. I can't say enough good things about the software of course, but I will say that as a generalist, it really helps cut down on the number of different apps I have to bounce between. There is bunch of info about the images/animations on my site, but please feel free to post any questions or comments! Thx a lot!

Brian

:D

Edit: I should also add, these are a handfull of images from the site and there is a whole lot more to see there if anyone is bored. :D

I love your projects, great set of work, I like that you're doing something with your models once you make them, in your 10+ years you've amasses a great sence of animation and alot of software skills it seems.

I especially like your models that utilize the model's polygon composition as a premise for their design. I had a similar idea but you beat me to it. Great work :) keep it up and keep us posted.

I really like the Frog looking one, all the others are very ideal none the less but that particular one just stands out to me for some reason :) nice work man.

Thanks a lot guys for the kind words! Making this stuff takes so much time, as we all know :D.

X-Titan, glad you liked those! =] I got pointed in that direction by trying to minimize one of the many steps in the creation process, and keep texturing/UVs super simple heh.. For the same reason I have always liked the looks of toon shading, they both are really simple and still can look ok :D.

Prospect, I have to give credit of the frog design to www.sweatyfrog.com, and in hind sight, I think I could have gotten a lot closer to the 2D version :o but I was trying to complete a longer test piece and didnt have time to linger on modeling  -- I am glad you liked it otherwise tho :D:D

Incase you didnt have time to check the site, here is a link to the animation that goes along with the frog image:

One of my favs is the gear spider (http://www.polyoptics.ca/GSstill.jpg )
I wish Zbrush2 was around when I was making it, I would have done a really different background, to say the least! :D

Kinda like how my current project would be so different with ZB2.5 ...heheh soon enough I am sure though.

thx again guys:D

Hey again,

I've been working on short film and finally have a couple of 'work in progress' pics of the main characters to show. Zbrush was used mostly for texturing and some other little things. :D

hehe glad u like them :D

They do look a bit cow like, hehe, they're really not supposed to be any animal, just cartoony creatures ready for space travel! :D:D
