hi,
the character twigman recreated from my childhood memories.
modeled in maya, textured, bump-mapped in zbrush, rendered with mentalray.

sorry for posting it so late at zbc but i had some technical problems which are now solved.

some wires, wips, and more images here (http://projects.jrrmk.lv/043/3d/twigman/web/)

Really nice, and disturbing, piece! Looking at the additional images of the wireframe makes it look as though you were using a number of techniques beyond just those in Zbrush, specifically for all the vines/plant material intertwining inside the core shape fo the "skull". It would be very interesting to hear how you approached doing this piece, given its extreme complexity and sophistication. Again, really great piece of work!

Top row for me personally.

I love it, very photo realistic, and alive.

Sorry to hear about the memories, I think many of us can relate:)

Great image, everything about it is working together. You have a good eye for detail.

As for your childhood memories, I'm not too sure where you grew up :) but I had very little monsters in my neighborhood :P

I still don't know how some images get up to Top Row. Either but number of votes or a moderator's choice... but I'm pretty glad this one made it up there :tu:

That is one beautiful render. I'd love to see some animation of this, but my God...what a nightmare that could be. :)

Love the lighting and mood of this - you've really nailed this!
