That's right! It's time to have our traditional Halloween fun here at ZBC!



Post your scary, ghoulish, haunting ZBrush images in this thread and we'll post them in a special Halloween Gallery at ZBrush.com, beginning October 30.

It's your chance to s c a r e people
with the power of your imagination and Z2!!!








INSTRUCTIONS: We'll post one ZBrush image per artist. You may post WIP's in this thread, but let us know which image is your final submission by writing [Gallery Entry] under the image.

We are encouraging all entries to be 100% ZBrush. If you choose to use other software as well as ZBrush, the image must be primarily ZBrush-created and the post containing the image should clearly state the role that ZBrush played in its creation.

I'd say that each student can post his halloween entry under your acronym. Just like the collage you made. But please, make the individual pics large enough to see detail. At least 800x600. Would be exciting to see the progress your gang made and how many still stick to it and are having fun! I am sure nobody would mind.

Would it be ok if I made all my initial work in ZB, separated off all the elements in Maya, textured it all in ZB and stuck it together for a final render in maya? I really cannot get the hang of marker master, and I want to make this piece to the best of my abilities?

Oh yeah, it isnt a render as I have not yet figured out how to render in silo...

From the little I played with the silo demo, there is no built-in rendering module. You have to export your model to either a standalone renderer or to another modeling program with rendering capabilities. That's why I vetoed the program in favor of ZBrush's realtime rendering engine.

Hey Ron, the skull is bad ass. I like it. The overall image is cool for a Halloween party invite, but from a design perspective... I would move the skull more to the left, or make it dead center. But it's your party, and from the few tid bits you have thrown out over all these years, I'm sure it will be a blast. :D ;)

Bas I can remember some early mornings after Heavy drinking when my tongue felt like that. Excellent imagery :) LOL

I dont really have time to do a new image as I am in middle of writing a book but heres an old one hopefully in the spirit of things.

Just an update to my image on page 1. I still have some more grass, fog, and lighting to paint in, plus a few extra details and clean up to do. This is still very much a WIP though. Also a few of the tombstones were made in Hexagon. Hope you like .

Well, a BIG BOO to everyone! My favorite visual time of year is here and the action is at ZBC! I regret that I can't join in this time as my old pc has crashed for the last time and I lost Zbrush again,....the good news is I have finally bought a new dual core Z workstation, yaaaaaaaaay!...but haven't tried to get going yet. Anyway, this stuff is great!

Hey guys...Here is a ghost for my scene...mostly painted in 2D. I should have had this image done yesterday, but I'm having transparency and compositing issues. My comps look ok but not near the quality of the pure ghost on black in this image

sirquad......try grabbing it as an alpha and as a texture then use both in the fog menu...(alpha as a mask) and see if that doesn't ghostify it for ya

My annual Zombie pic... Muahahahahahawr!
I hope I made it in time... started this three days ago...
All color maps, displacement maps, specularity maps and so on were made with Z2. Hi-res details sculpted in Z2.
Base meshes built in Silo.
Uvmapping = Unfold3D and XSI
Cloth details and eye materials are procedurals in XSI.
Rendered in XSI w/MentalRay.

Some great entries this year, as always! My favorites entries are dzip's(nicely composited), zeet's(A little Re-Animator... ish), Tartan's(Mysterious), SS810's(great hands) and of course Sirquadalot(Ghastly and very well done!)... Good to see you still hanging around my friend!
