Heres something i am doing as i type this. They only thing i have done is the facial features but i will add a lot more.
There will be teeth in the mouth(my first try at them) and some hair. Anyone got any suggestions to help this character look better? Thanks http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1014681553obt.jpg

i think its coming along great. im a newbie also so im not going to give you too much info but it looks like you may be having the same problem i have in regards to the zadd intensity. stonecutter suggested to me to turn it down and it helps give a more organic look to the face and he was right. just my thoughts

Well, here's a comment...That's some real fine texturing around the mouth! You have a really nice skin 'feel'...I would suggest you try a simple brush, RGB only, ZAdd off, and a dotted Apha brush...Set your RGB Intensity low, (I use around 5-15 range), and 'dab' on skin colors... :)

thanks Stonecutter. Ill use the alpha 07 and 23. Im trying to get a sort of pale-blueish face. This will help to bring out the colors. Thanks again/

Those work...You might like what happens if you go to the 'Lights' panel, turn the 'Ambient' down to 0, and check the render...The materials in ZBrush have their own ambience, and if you turn down the global ambience in the light panel, you'll see quite a difference! ;)

wow! It makes the image look a lot better:
Thanks a million Stonecutter.
Im off to bed, but i will make the teeth and finish the image tomorrow! One question, is there anyway i can make his eyes stand out more?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'stand out', but if you boost the ambient of the material you used for the eyes, they will get brighter...

Hi LWTB, great updates. You created a very expressive face, with some very good texture work. To make the eyes stand out a bit more:
:b1: Go to the TOOLS panel, select IntensityBrush. Make sure that ZADD is off and RGB is on. Try low RGB settings to bring up the colors of the eye. I usually go with 3-5 as my setting. Hope this helps.

To EA Krippler
All you need to do is dowload the texture master tutorial from this link its amazingTexture Master (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=002034)

LWTB

thanks for the great replies! I did not use texture master for the model because I my PC froze and i couldnt edit the object anymore. FYI: it is all done with simple brush.
filament9, thanks for the tip, i will use it to help the eyes out!

Almost finished rendered version.
Need some areas to improve on and im done!!
thanks again for the help , everyone
(edit) i decided not to add hair as the image looked too cluttered. Plus, i wanted the texture of skin to show up better.

:tu: It's really amazing to see you create this great image in front of our eyes almost in real time. It could be finished now or you may want to try playing with the light more.

Personally, I'd try creating more asymetry through the use of lighting.

LWTB
02-27-02, 02:49 PM
i think i will add some light that is a different color to sorta tint the whole image.

Awesome. I would still like more details about how you managed that texture with the simple brush! That must have taken ages!

LWTB
02-27-02, 05:02 PM
To get the texture, i used the simplebrush with 13-17 Intensity and i changed alphas a lot. (all default alphas) Turned off RGB/M/MRGB and painted to add details. :D
(*edit*)Also all texturing done in Zbrush.

Very good image. Your has produced a very good result. I think you should delete the shadow from the eyes it does not look too realistic :p

LWTB
03-01-02, 12:32 PM
how can i change the shadow? Is there a way i can just delete it?

khlon
03-04-02, 11:30 AM
well if you use photoshop you must use a screen brush to delete the shadow. Another way might be the Colorise brush of zbrush. If you put some more white not on the 3d surface beacuse this will not avoid the fact that your eyes are shadowed. You must process it as 2d image, in a few word you must exit transorm mode.I can try myshelf if you want further advice.

khlon

Also shadow (something) brush and glow brush can achive the same result. Just import it as 2d image and use one of these brush and you will achieve the result you want. Another way is to increase the ambient for the material of the eyewhich is the best and safest way .Play with the material option especially Ambient , Difuse and Specular and you will avoid the shadow
