It's funny how people seem to think along the same lines at the same time without pre-planning it. Here's my Christmas contribution, created entirely in ZBrush, which is going to be gracing my Christmas cards this year. Thanks to a little translation work for me by Juandel (thank you!), it's title is "Lichterbaum".
This is the first year that I've been able to do something like this, and the thanks goes entirely to ZBrush. What a wonderful software!
Season's Greetings, everyone!

 card image. Works well. Heck, I'd enjoy one of these as a card, rather then the fluffy traditionals we see this time of year.

I like the contrast between the fanciful tree and the "real" trees. I was going to suggest putting some stars in the sky, but then I read in your 3d commune post about the stars getting lost in the jpeg compression.
I wonder if it's possible to transparency on more then one layer, so you can have the center pole showing through the spiral and the ornaments showing through where they are blocked by the spiral as well.
I like the fanciful quality to this picture. I was coming back to this one over and over again today.

Nice card, Matthew!
I like the contrast between the sort-of-traditional snow covered tree image, and the light sculpture inserted into it...
:tu: :tu: :tu:  :D
I'm overwhelmed. :)
This really isn't the best work that I've done, but I sure appreciate all of the kind comments.
It's really funny -- this wasn't intended to be futuristic, and it wasn't until everyone started saying the word that I began to look at it in that way. LOL I just wanted to create something that was pretty, colorful, and a bit stylized while still having a traditional side to it.
Incidentally, it probably doesn't need to be said considering how well known it is that I love the Fiber Brush, but that was the tool used to create the vast majority of the snow here. Also, the stylized tree was created with multiple copies of the Colorized Glow material, with a high ambience and very high transparency.
Thanks again! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
