hi guys, i have been hangin here for a couple weeks just in love with zbrush, and out of all the hours ive spent hangin around i have yet to see a modeled vehicle. have I not looked hard enough or is this something South or Stone, or one of the other Zbrush big boys can try for us.

you forgot to ask for the biggest of the big boys to produce a vehicle.....Pixolator, the creator of the program.......and that would be a cool thing to see him make for us.... :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: and also I like the little animation you have on your posting...I loaded it and it looked kewl...you may try dropping some frames from that though....56k dialups load slower...but it looks great though...

actually ez.. the duck is a project that ive put off for a long time.. maybe ill get it finished one of these days..

also if you really want to have a car in your image you might want to try finding a car either in dxf or obj format..so far i have a humv, batmoble, and a fighter jet in obj file format..

I haven't tried to make a car, but I've done a spaceship. :)

http://www.members.dca.net/shinzaho/zbrush/Enterprise12.JPG

I did this one before anyone knew what the ship from "Enterprise" was going to look like and I was speculating. I did this before the existance of multi-markers. It would have saved me a lot of headaches. :)

Maybe I'll try working on a car tonight. I'll be looking forward to Pixolator's car.

Oh, by the way. Stonecutter did the inside of a car. Does that count? :)

WingedOne....I have seen that one somewhere else....coz I saved it at some point...LOL....didnt know you had done that....very very ultra kewlies....(major trekker here..) anymore ST stuff in your gallery?

WingedOne
02-26-02, 06:22 AM
I did a bunch of Borg ships which is located at my Renderosity gallery.

...And now back to our regularly scheduled topic. :)

my first car...just for you...I cant let my kids see this one....I never could even draw cars as a kid...and apparently it has carried over into my adult life as well...the body was a distorted 3d cube, tires were an inflated torus tool, windows were a distorted 3d plane and the tree were made with an alpha created with the bottom half of the vehicle...this is harder than I thought it would be...will have to try again ;)

Hi :)
Here is the work-in-progress for a motorcycle image.
All modeling done in version 1.23b. (Final rendering done in the underdevelopment-beta-version)
Most objects have been created from 3D primitives by using the TOOL ::MODIFIERS ::SELECTION subpalette to apply a mask; and the TOOL ::MODIFIERS ::DEFORMATION sliders to deform the objects(mostly by using Inflate, Size and SBend ).

Modeling in the 1.23b version...But the rendering, does it make in the same version? :)
A beautyful motorcycle we have here!...Damn!

Stonecutter
02-26-02, 11:57 AM
Ofer, you kill me...You whip out a motorcycle so plausible, that I was immediately laying my psychic body in place, with my left foot sliding to the gearshift!

Too much, man... ;)
how did you adjust to get such a believable shadow?

Pixolator used the new rendering engine in the upcoming version to do the rendering but all of the rest of the stuff was done in version 123b.

Looks great so far. I guess what's to come next is some parts of the seat and the handle bars (unless steering is done via some sort of mind control method :)). It's hard to tell that it's not a real motorcycle.

-----------------------------------------

wow pixolator it looks like you could step in and ride it really cool dude

That is truly amazing Pix!!!
Wingedone, I think the handles are on the front sides of the cycle and you would sorta lay down to ride.

That bike is simply astounding!

<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Wingedone, I think the handles are on the front sides of the cycle and you would sorta lay down to ride.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Well that explains why I couldn't figure out how the feet would work the brakes on the front wheel. :) I was thinking too much along the lines of a conventional motorcycle configuration.

02-26-02, 01:46 PM
 wow, is this possible? done in Zbrush!!!!everything????how many years does it take to become such a 3D warrior???
i would like to see something like Z cycle in the making, a script would be incredible :D

btw. what are such differences in version 1.23 and 1.23b that that certain scripts are working exclusively in 1.23b...

Stonecutter
02-26-02, 01:47 PM
See Winged One? I was onto it...My psychic body automatically had a left foot gearshift thingy going on! :p :D ;)

Very cool lookin bike, although it doesnt look too comfortable, looks like your back would be sitting at a weird arch to see over the front, and hold onto the throttle/brake at the same time.

LWTB
02-26-02, 02:04 PM
the motorcycle looks very futuristic. It may hurt your back a little, but i would shrug off the pain in order to ride that sucker!! Pix, you are the man!!!!!!

02-26-02, 02:14 PM
When I grow up I want to be 1/3 rd as good as you are Pix. You just keep pulling us dome a notch or two when we need it. Or as some may say raise the bar to a seldom reached height. Thanks for demonstrating that if we can dream it, we can achieve it.

02-26-02, 02:14 PM
Wonderful bike! But somehow I don't think that the creature that will ride will be a human. Maybe some Sebulba-like creature using its feet to steer it????

Gazzooks! That is really awesome puddlehopper and it isn't even done yet.

As for the ride, I think Pixolator is even thinking further out of the box than conventional design. I suspect that you ride the thing much like those recliner bicycles, almost on your back, feet stretched forward and your hands on the controls on the rear axel. I am sure the bike has a internal gyroscope and computer so that steering is accomplished by a combination of body lanquage and hand controls, more fly-by-wire. Even a amaturish rider could make alot of mistakes without road-rash.

Course all of this is speculation, I just know I would love to ride the ride when it is done!

Well I was staggered by Wingedone's Enterprise but now Pixolators motorcycle has floored me, fantastic work in both images.

well here is my first attemp at a car. basically i modeled a cube, deformed it a bit and tried my best to make wheels. im lost. i had to turn the ambient light down alot just so it almost looked like a car and hide my imperfections.

So was i headed in the right direction or should i take on another approach?

Here's one I started to work on. It's not done yet though. I used the Terrain Tool and various flatten, taper & squeeze deformations as well as a little pushing and pulling at the mesh. The Terrain Tool seems like a good starting point for making cars.

Of course wheels and other parts will be added on later.

02-27-02, 08:49 PM
wow thats nice too. i think i see what needs to be done with machines, you HAVE to use the deform tools as opposed to my technique of modeling it. too difficult for me i guess. thanx guys.

im glad you like my first car jib :)

Thank you for your participation and VERY kind replies :)
I will try to complete this image in the near future and possibly (time permitting) write a ‘Unicycle’ tutorial. Unicycle should not be too difficult to create and if you have the time, give it a try :)
