View Full Version : My Second Posted Image
I created this turtle scene in ZBrush. I did use the picture by Tootsie in the Zbrush Academy as a model, so if it looks vaguely familiar, that's the reason. I hope that's allowed. If not, then kindly delete my post. I wasn't trying to copy it, but I needed something to experiment with and I liked that picture. I drew the head, neck, shell and arm as separate objects. I wanted to blend the upper arm into the body at the top, but I found I was unable to. The reason? Somehow I got the arm on the same layer as the background. You would think it would be behind the body, but at least it shows up where it's suppose to be. Anyway, it turned out better than I expected - for me anyway.
Zoid, the water in my picture came from my experiments with your ripple technique. I still can't seem to get it right. I think you have to adjust the draw size and then move the mouse (tablet) up or down to pull out the rings, is that right?
I also was going through some of my many downloads and I tried running one called texturePanel. It runs okay, but it says that it can't open any of the texture libraries. Was I suppose to download these from somewhere? Maybe I did, and I just don't know what their called.
Anyway, thanks
Kevin

Okay, I edited my post and added my image. That's how you're suppose to do it, right? So why isn't it showing up?
great pic Kevin i see it
the reason probley why it didn't show up is because you didn't give it time to load...
it won't appear soon it depends how big the pic KB is..
and the thumb nail pic on the main forum never shows up for me right away it takes a LOOOOOOOOOONG Time
or if some one posted right after me with a pic it will show up right away

nice work 4 your 2nd posted image i like the style that u have been working with, z brush has to b the funnest program to experiment and play with :tu: ::
Hi Kevin,
I recognized Tootsie right away and I'm sure that the Saint is flattered that his image inspires you, it inspires me also.Your water looks good, and you're right about the brush size. Zintensity is important also. Start low with both settings, like 5 or less. In edit>move mode you can move your mouse way up or down and then without releasing, go back in the same direction and see what happens. You can always undo ;). It looks like you're pretty far up on the learning curve. Keep going :tu:

i like this one a lot, Kevin! :tu: :tu: :tu:
as for your mentiond problem with texturepanel... i do not know what you mean: is it a zscript? do you mean southern’s texture manager? if yes, yes: you have to fill that drawers up with textures of your gusto: downloaded ones, selfcreated ones and so on.
as for the arm being on the same layer as the background and therefore not blendable into the body (i hope i got you right, there; if not: just forget the following suggestions): if you are working with the demo the armtool stays accessible in the tool-palette as long as you are in the same session... so in case you are encountering similar probs with future projects you could do the following: duplicate the arm/background layer (to be able to go back if something goes wrong) and deactivate one of those layers. choose the eraser-tool and get rid of the arm (it should be in front of the background, right? therefore the eraser with reduced z-intensity wont affect the background, i guess - and even if it does: Tootsie’s body would cover the hole). then reactivate the armtool and place it to where you want to have it.
keep posting, Kevin! and sharing the Z-fun you obviously have!
