Hello ZBrushies!
This is a small test rendering of my latest endeavour - Tera-City. My goal is to make a HUGE city-complex on a peninsula, with lots of spaceship-goodies flying and floating around. Right now i have not decided exactly where i will be headed with the image. I am thinking of maybe adding a couple of human figures lurking on a balcony, or something like that; but i dont know for sure yet.
Up until now i have used little ZBrush in my composition - mainly for texturing.
The rendering was done in max (as well as all models).
Anyway, C&C more than welcome.

Oh! And yes i know there is only one glowing window... that was a test-postwork effect in PS, just to see how it goes. So, i liked it and decided to keep it.

You could make it like a circuit board city, your idea of what the inside of a computer would be like.

Here is a new rendering of Tera-City. Constantly adding detail (i am a detail-freak btw). I am sure the final rendering will take a couple of hours - lots and lots of ray-traced stuff in there  .

I like it, only thing that sticks out for me are the pipes.

Do you mean for them to look boxy? I always think of pipes being smooth and ..I dono. Flowy.

This one took 20 mins to render...
I think my comp will be going on strike soon
I finally made up my mind about the picture. I have visualised the final composition and i hope i will be able to make it just the way i have it inside my head.
So, i am going to put a futuristic soldier guy on a balcony and a couple of explosions in the city. And lots and lots of spaceships. And then some more sapceships... and oh, did i mention spaceships?
I think some spaceships are in order too
Tell me what you think guys and gals, i am a bad artist and dont get a lot of feedback!

Hello again..
My comp is going to explode soon, i can sense it....
Here is another one of my renderings for my huge project Tera-City
It took approximately one and a half hours to render (more than 2 mil polys, about 20 lights, volumetric lighting, glow effects and lots of ray-tracing - what did you expext  )
Anyway... here is the pic (C&C always welcome)

One star means terrible, right?

Yes Frag but dont worry about it. there is an idiot (maybe 2 or 3) who goes around hit and running other peoples images and never leaves the reason he thinks an image or model could be made better. A True Idiot.

Beyond that, its a very impressive scene and shows a lot of detail and hard work. Nice perspective :) :tu:

Keep going Frag-Ghost, I'm liking the way this is devopling. Only crit is that the image seems a bit blury. Have you DOF on. Maybe tweak the DOF, if you have. But sure is a lot off detail, great to see people doing scenes.

Thanks a lot for your comments people, i am honoured.

Yes, there has been ALOT of detailing in this pic, and let me tell you it is faaaaaaar from done. Actually what you are seeing here is only a portion of the bottom-right corner of the final image (at least, the way i have thought the final image will be; you never know what happens along the way).

panstar: there actually is no DOF in this pic, the blur you are seeing is PS postwork (if i rendered this monster of a scene with DOF added on top of everything else, i would be long retired by the time it was done  )
I know it is difficult for anybody else to perceive exactly what you have in mind until the work is done and the fat lady sings and all  . For the time being, let me tell you i am happy with the result, given the planned final image.

I only hope my comp is going to cope with the strenuous tasks i am giving it LOL

A few more technical data btw:
Rendered in max with MR - all models (up to now) are base mesh in max, imported and textured in ZB (i still have a long way to go with my ZB skills, i will say)

tartan: read your thread about the one-star-hit-and-runners and found it very interesting; just today i saw another incident of a total newbie getting the one-star grenade in the face... well, what can you say, some people have issues...

Anyway, to conclude, thanks for viewing and giving me feedback; also thanks for the stars.

Hasta la vista, for the moment

I am reminded of the old game syndicate. Which is a good thing.
