Texture grays out in projection master

Hi every time i go into projection master, the texture area goes gray and i cant select the texture i need. its driving me mad. i watched them do it in the tutorial video with the old woman but i cant seem to get it to work... any help?!?!?

Once PM is launched try selecting the Simple Brush.
