creating a portfolio website?

I'm going to eventually have to make a professional looking portfolio website. I would like to make a site that is as simple to use as www.aaron-sims.com (yet look a lot different). Also a huge plus would be to easily add photos without having to recode the entire page per each photo. I'm not afraid to manually code the page either. So what scripting languages would be best to learn for this? Is it better just to get some program that has GUI access to these features? Are templates hard to make as well?

www.moonfruit.com is completely idiotproof, but your oviously no idiot, so maybe not suitable for you :D

Check it out though. It's quite a decent site builder. As far as I know you can use the online point and click interface as well as code your own pages etc.
