Thought I would have a poke at the Rhino people this week so I built myself a RhinoBeetle (Just got Rhino Version 2.0) and used Texturemaster to texture each of the body parts and compose the whole thing back in ZBrush.

I really did it to prove how easy it is to use ZBrush to make texture maps and displacement maps for any program that can use UV mapped objects.

Wow. It looks creepily real. Very nice texturing job, my friend -- hardly a surprise coming from you. I hope that Cindy sees this, considering the texturing discussion that she got going.
Now, does anybody have a can of Raid? :D

I love the bug but is there anyway to cut a eye brow off a beetle bug from Rhino and import it into zbrush ;) ;) :D
Damn, that's cool, South!
Great :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Excellent. :)
Bumps and displacement maps are so important for realistic results...
It is a great render.

If it was not this good, I would be surprised.!

This is proof positive that ZBrush is, likely, the best app for map creation. Well done!
Wow, that is excellent Southern. I have to make sure my mother never sees this, she is scared to death of bugs, and this doesn't look like any disney version! :D

Nice excercise Glen. Coleoptera meets Arachnida methinks ;) Goes to show you the versatility of the ol' Z and how well it plays with other apps. How easy was it to make that beetle in Rhino...Hmmm?? I'll warrant it was far easier creating the texture map than it was modeling that beetle. ;) :tu:
You are unbeliveable Southern! How long have you been working with ZBrush?

stunning as always southern..
if that was put in enviroment i don't think it would be reconisable as cg :tu: ::
OHHHHHHH how I HATE BUGS!! As much as I hate them I still have to say you did an excellent job! From Modeling down to the texture! I just wish he was a little smaller so I can keep my distance and the vacuum could suck em up!

That's really nice! Looks like something I saw in my bathroom this morning. And no...it wasn't while looking in the bathroom mirror. :) I still have got to try that displacement map/texture thing.
Now why that remids me MIMIC.Creepy :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :b4: :b4: :b4: :b4: :b4: :b4:

Glen, you've got to re-visit this once the new displacement mapping comes out! I noticed how the bump-mapping looks good in certain areas, and fades as the polygons face closer to 90 degrees away from the 'camera'. :tu: :tu:

SOUTHERN,
Did you import the rhino model, texture a part, exit, reimport, texture, exit, etc., or did you only import and texture once. It looks like you have a UV map produced from another program entirely. Please explain. Everyone can use texturemaster for ZBrush Models, but for use with other programs it gets very confusing (and frustrating). Please enlighten us with your Rhino to ZBrush workflow. I say please again :) . This is very important undocumented information. Thanks! :D

That is just amazing. I really need to figure out how to do the color bump, and I can't wait for the displacement maps.
