View Full Version : Lighting while modeling

I thought I came across this topic in one of the online tutorials, but I can't find it now. When I draw a sphere to begin modelling, a lighting effect is already applied (I'm assuming) because shadows are created while I'm contouring.

This can help you see the shape that you're creating better, but sometimes it's a hindrance because the shadow is dark and it throws off the symmetry you're expecting to see, depending on the angle of the light.

Is there a "flat light" setting of some sort that can be used while modelling?

Thanks mucho! :)

hm, if you want it real flat, you can always switch on *flat* render mode (in the *render* menu, where you'd expect it to be), which ignores everything except colors and textures, no shading at all .... *or* you can go into *fast shader* mode, where all the texturing is omitted, and even adjust your lighting there, however you like it .. all the settings are under *render / fast shader* .. i think

There is complete control over lighting...
Maybe what you might try is to increase your global ambient light level to 'wash-out' the shadows...

Thanks, guys. I'll give it a whirl.
