Ok so I decided I need to do something more challenging so my latest venture is to model and detail an african elephant. That means all the wrinkles and cracks, which is a lot!

This is the head so far. Taken me a while to model as I know very little about elephants and have to refer to a lot of photos. I need to fix the ngons on the ears before I can carry on otherwise Zbrush will screw it up.

Ok so I've brought him into Zbrush and started detailing. I have a feeling I could be at this for a while :)

Ok so the trunk is finally finished. Took me just over an hour. The other thing is I dont like the camera settings in zbrush it seems to change the perspective a bit. Is there any way to change this?

Really nice elephant. I'm sure it will turn out to be another amazing one as I can see some fine wringles you are putting on him. :tu: :tu:

Excellent work so far - looking forward to seeing more! Refreshing to see a natural history subject on the forum.

Re: the slighty odd flattened perspective in ZBrush - nope, there's no way to change it. I find it worthwhile to export my model in my 3D packages' perspective view occasionally just to check that everything is going to plan.

cheers guys. I'll try and get it done this coming week. Haven't really touched it for two days as had things to do. Started refining the body a bit, but I'm scared because there is so much to do. Might have to alpha map it all to save time. Looks a bit like super sculpy at the moment :p

had a crack at the body today. This is what I have at the moment. Rendered in C4D with basic material and lighting
