View Full Version : Uncertain
Hey all,
Was fooling around with the spiral tool and made a neck... liked it... drew some heads but was uncertain which I enjoyed more...
Whadda you all think? One is obviously comical - the dragonish one - but I think the neck goes with it pretty nicely.
The other one looks more realistic but I'm not sure I like the head on that serpentine neck.
Suggestions?

Lemme know watcha think,
Thanks,

Nice modeling on both of them. I think that if you were to use the same material for the body on the first one that you did for the head, they would go together better and look great.

a reasonable point, aurick! jeez, this spiral modelling you did is excellent, Angst!!! love the textures in both of them! therefore my suggestion would be to treat the head in the same way as the bod! :D

I like the spirel neck you made - I'd like to see it painted and made into a magot like the great Paul Booth tattoos
just a suggestion
Awesome lighting and textures, I agree thou the heads seem too materialily different.
They are both great, perhaps you should make a two-headed hydra?

number 1 definitely is better...but yeah the skin texture needs to be the same on the head and the neck I think also....love the lighting...really caught my eye
Great dragons, though 2 for choice.

Great horns, eyes, and teeth on the second one. It looks like you're working up to making a full scene with an enviroment. I hope you start doing that :tu:
You're all correct. The textures have to match, and I'm having problems combining them properly with some of the default materials in Zbrush (Believe it or not both heads use the same texture as the neck, but there's a default Material applied (to the heads)that wasn't working as well on the neck.
I could either play with it some more OR just do this:

and solve the problem. Same texture, same material... woo hoo!
Not a dragon anymore, nor a weird alien thing but sorta cool none the less.
(Darn it! I was gonna use this particular head for a "Man in the Moon" thing I was doing but maybe not now).
Syco26 - not familiar with the tatoos you mention. Any chance of a link to a site for photo reference? I'll give it a try if I see a cool one.
Digits - yeah, actually I WAS working on a hydra (7 heads I think) and the spiral neck was an excercise to see if I could actually make it usable. I think I might try to do it now that I see that the tool can be made to function well.
All others - thanks for the kind words, I appreciate them.
Happy Zbrushing...

These are wonderful. The variations are all extremely good. That texture is perfect.

I rather like the last one Angst. A little more shading and some physical bump and it could be really killer....
Hmm, perhaps it is an alien version of the drama masks... :)
Remarkable work. Hope mine looks like that some day.
