It doesn't APPEAR to be either, Kathy, at least externally! Excellent illustration!

Is that a real Florida map textured onto a 3Dplane?

Actually it's the Terrain 3D "bent" like a real map. BUT it is the real map of Clearwater FL. ;)

Good eyes, Nikko! :tu:

Actually, Kath, it wasn't hard to figure out, what with all that OCEAN on it! ;)

And yes, I'm VERY jealous! :) :)

That map WAS very nicely done, by the way, like the rest of the pic.

I guess all that blue was a HUGE hint. ;)

n i c e one, kathy! great sense of depth and perspective.
how did you get the feet blurred, without affecting the body and face?

Thanks _pix!

This being a comped piece I use my "bullseye" technique.

Starting with the largest outside
circumference (inverted circle) I do a 1.2 G blur.

Secondary circumference (inverted circle)is set at half that of .6 g blur.

I then go back and "spot" blur the areas I feel need it.

Lastly I apply a "sharpen" filter the the secondary sphere.

The whole goal is to bring a radial view with periphial vision included.

Here are the area's mapped with transparent white:

aaah, i see .. and i wondered how tricked depth cue to do that .. :) so, are you doing that in Z or rather pshop?
however, really nice and subtle effect.
btw, i think some a little glossier material and stronger speculars would give your andgogyne alien even more, umm, let's say *impact*. the skin's a tad dull.

I comp in Photoshop.

I have to agree on my alien skin. He needs some Suave moisturizer. hee hee

Turbulance that I posted today, was post worked in ZBrush. There's a distinct difference in work done outside of Z.

Very clever stuff, with the map and the buildings. I think the alien is just green with envy, because it can't even read the map.

LOL great work Kathy! But you fooled me! As soon as I saw the map I thought... Has to be a female! A man looking at a map, in a public place?? Gasp that's like stopping at a gas station to ask directions! <Yes, that's coming from some who "admits " she has no sense of direction.LOL>
