Hey guys.
I finally got around to finishing Jerry last night.
Since most of my posts seem to be rather sad fellows.
I thought I would at least let Jerry get in a grin.;)
Hope you all like.
Cheers

:tu::tu::tu::tu::tu: Love it. It seems to have a really cool 2D feel to it, like something out of an old computer game ;)

Ah ha, yes, I knew I'd seen this fella somewhere, besides your sad version of him. You did a rather excellent tut with masks did you not, and this was the bloke you were sculpting? Could be wrong of course  If it is, then this has come a long long way! The detailing is really intense and lifelike.

Fantastic work man :tu:

Incredible as always Cesar. Between this and your See'R, I just don't know what to do with all this inspiration and no zbrush. I guess I'll sit in this net cafe and sulk about it ;)

Great stuff! it would be great with a good sss shader.

Amazing character, voodoomonkey - you've given him a real soulful expression
there :D

Agree with Lil'Sister about the SSS thing, although that might detract from
the illustration-feel you've already achieved with this guy - top stuff :tu:

FIirst off... I want to say sorry for not replying sooner.
It has been a busy day.
Thank you all for dropping in to see Jerry.
For the ones that left notes... thank you for taking the time to express your opinion.
It's always great to hear from you all.
kaibosh, Sure go ahead... we are all students in this great world of ours. There's always room for growth. ;)

VeryGrimm, you're funny, thank you for the Top row support. :D

Longsight, thank you... the goal was to give him soul. Actually I had in mind Sly mixed with wisdom.

edgeart, SolidSnakexxx, Thank you so much for your kind words.

Atwooki, Lil'sister, SSS I'd love to I just haven't really been happy so far with the results I've bee getting in Maya/ Mental Ray. Although I've been convinced to give Modo a try. Let's see how that goes. :tu:

metric, Clay your work rocks. I can't wait to see what you come up with.I'm sure it'll be killer.

x-titan, Good eye, mix actually. ;)

madmac, Huge compliment again I love your work... true inspiration. :tu:

Heggiiman, I'm glad people are responding to him on a visceral level.

Angelstein, same base mesh as Frank from the video tut I did. I was actually talking about this at work today. Some of the guys were saying how they could instantaneously spot my work. I guess that's a good thing. At least they all seem to live in the same universe. Now all I need is to try and make it a happier place to live in. Everyone is always so grumpy. :D

Cush, Thank you... I love that style.

theXbucket, I can see that, thanks for the kind words.

odhinn, thank you. I often check in on your thread, nice to see the progression of your work. Good work BTW.

Cheers

Cesar,

Kind of you, really, but...Pffft! Hey you earned it all the way. I saved a copy of it as well. Beautifull down to the last detail and his crookid little lip.

I love Zbrush and wish I didn't have to work so I could spend all day working on it and be as good as guys like you amigo.
Wheres home for you? Where you at? You can PM if you prefer.

Hi voodoo,

That last image is very very cool and well done :tu:
Since you're a fan of thinking out loud and giving some constructive opinions, I would have to point out that some of the wrinkles of the forehead seems to be little harsh and that I'm sure you could easily fix if you consider it -just my opinion-

Anyway... very very cool image :tu:

PS.
I can almost see some gray hair on the side of the head ;)

Take care Cesar

voodoomonkey
08-25-06, 04:34 PM
elarcano, I completely agree with you.
In fact the forehead is the thing that bothers me the most.;)
Yes I am a student of life and will never stop learning.
For me to ever think I know everything is an absurdity.
There are extremely talented people in this world and as I've said in the
past I'm merely a Salieri amongst the crowd of Mozart's.
I only hope that by being my present some of the talent will rub off on me.;)
Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion, more of us should do that.
Cheers

Salieri, huh? Then lets commission them till we drive them crazy ;)
There's is nothing better than someone who knows how to discern the good point out of the criticism... oh well, probably there are a lot of better things than that, but you get the idea

Take care Cesar

PS.
I know Salieri wasn't in real life like he was portraited in the movie but I just couldn't miss out the opportunity of a bad joke ;)
I'm more like the guy who worked for Salieri who wanted something rubbed off from the guy who rubbed against Mozart... oh wait... that didn't come out too manly
