Hello all.. I'm fairly new to ZB.. I've seen the images by Pixolator and by Southern and i'm amazed.. I've done some sketching in 2d for a while and I'm interested going digital, and this package seemed to have it all so I picked it up.. now I'm having some problem working around in it.. I've been practicing with "Molding" but I Was wonderin gif there is a "Document" like 3DSMax has that has a introduction course to the Program.. What all the different settings are relate too.. I get overwhelmed with the amount of settings there are..

Any help would be nice..
Dave

Hi Dave!

The program is a little overwhelming at first, and even those of us who are "old hands" with the program still get surprised by new things. The amazing thing about ZBrush is that practically everything interacts with everything else -- both on the canvas and within the interface.

A great place to start for learning the program is by running some ZScript tutorials. You'll find quite a few in the QuickLinks, some of them by Pixolator and Southern (the link is in the top right corner of every page here at ZBC).

However, my absolute favorite beginner's script is the ZBrush_Picnic. You already have it. Simply start ZBrush and open the ZScript palette. There, click LOAD and open the ZScript_Picnic folder. From the list of files, select the very first one: 0-ZBPIndex.txt

This script teaches a lot in a very short period of time. Most importantly, it shows you how the various elements of the program work together to create a full scene using both modeling and painting.

And of course, remember to check out the QuickLinks to find answers to other questions that will arise, as well as to simply ask here if you can't find an answer. We'll do our best to help you out!

Thanks aurick (sp)... I appreciate that.. I love the program.. It's wonderfull.. I just need to learn how to move around in it... I finally figured out how to turn off recording.. for some very strange and annoying reason, every time I start ZB, it would start recording.. :)

Once again, thanks, and I'll be back if I have more questions!

As for the recording bit, you can go into Preferences and change it so that ZBrush doesn't automatically start recording each time you start the program. Don't forget to save your preferences, though.

Yeah I got that to go.. ;) and I downloaded Southerns Default script which I love.. ;) You know..

Well I've seen the images, I'm hooked, I just got to get it down.. took me almost 4 weeks to get 3DS Max and I have Maya, but I don't use that much either.. :)

I'm a 3D Junkie

Lol welcome to my world...
If you like 2d art, you're pretty much like me... Don't worry, as soon as you get to learn the basics of 3d/2.5d you'll get addicted to it like crazy! :D
oh, maybe that wasn't a good thing to say?

Okay so here is my first picture, don't laugh I just got the pulling and pushing down.. and the eyes were easy.. thanks to all the tutorials on that.. ;)

For only playing in ZBrush for a little under 24 hours, I think it looks pretty good, just wait till I can master some of the teqniques.. the head it tilted, because after I Went to make the eyes in another layer, I couldn't go back and move the head even after I added the markers..
