Been working on him lately. Was Too busy in life to do any sort of artwork but now my time is my own again and, with luck, I can get back into Z and get dirty again.

This is all Z btw. Here is the old progress shots.

Very cool concept and desing! I like a lot the pores around the mouth area. Very nice render. I was wondering what kind of materials you used for this character or if it was rendered out of Zbrush.

Ok have a good one!

Thanks for all the comments yall. It is good to be back here.

You know I like giving back too. I learned so much here. I remember the days back in 1.23b when we tried to crack Pixolator's material and render settings. Good times. So here is another set from me to all of you.

Enjoy.

P.S. - Hopefully I will get back to Zscripts and also Quicktime Videos too.

donated other materials ( zbrush was in puberty then .... 1.5!)
Still have them!
Including an image do not let me know what you think.

hey thanks for the comments they are still works in progress would a tablet work better for me then a mouse becaause i would love to be better then i am and i would like to know what evey one thinks of posts on page 2 makilus the black do you anything you could tell me i would like to know what you think you are one of my inspirations and meats mier and alexia and there are so many others i thank you all i just wish someone would tell me if they are any good!!!

Mahlikus The Black
08-11-06, 12:01 PM
Sorry about that Troy.

Well, mind you, Zorahm (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showpost.php?p=48299&postcount=16) & The Pod (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=14367&page=1&pp=15) were the first ZModels I ever made using a tablet. Everything else before that was straight mouse. The thing I can tell you is change your brush size often. Also, Work like a sculptor does with stone. In the beginning, use large tools and block out detail. Then, get smaller and smaller and smaller until you are using tiny tools and are making things like wrinkles and pores. Finally, Smooth often and don't forget to use inflate as well. This really helps with the modeling.

Hey, this is a really nice set up, very much to my own personal taste, just wish I could get the same great results with lighting, materials as you can :(

All I did was change one of the lights to green for my doodles/sculpts below :D

Mahlikus,

Thanks for the render setup, I really like it, but I am getting some banding in the shadows that I don't see in everyone elses render. Take a look at this, particularly under what would be the pecs of this creature. Any ideas on how to remove the banding?

mike hovland, banding is visible on mine also, I think it's just down to the resolution of the model.

Nice work by all, especially abraXas's sculpt of Diablo himself! :tu:

Cool models, all of you. Remember that the best way to get a great render in Z is to setup your final doc at Double size. That way you can hit the Zoom Palette :: AAHalf button and make it look cleaner. Also, to make the mesh cleaner, make sure quick 3D Edit is turned off and Smoothing is turned on Tools Palette :: Display Properties. My Alien is Rendered at 3100w X 2200h.

Good Luck all.

Angelstein
08-11-06, 03:28 PM
Thanks for the tip mate ;) Turning of 'Quick 3D edit' alone makes a world of difference :D I'm learning little tips here and there every time I log into the forum!
