two issues for asphere :
1. Mirror symmetry mode sometimes 'slips' when inadvertantly hitting some key (like ALT) , and Zsphere no longer in symmetry although the Y ( or X/Z ) is still pressed, and when I move the pairs, they just move to the same direction, not in symmetrical fashion ?

2. It is possible to constrain the Move mode in our axis only ?

TIA.

It sounds like you've turned off the M button (Mirror) in the symmetry section of the Transform palette.

Regarding Move mode, the answer is different depending on whether you're modeling or using the gyro.

Using the gyro, simply click and drag on either a ring (to constrain movement to a plane) or an intersection (to constrain movement to a single axis).

In Edit mode, the XYZ, X, Y and Z buttons in Transform>Modifiers will restrict everything to a particular axis (or combination). The axes are determined by the position of the model in the Tool>Modifiers>Object Preview.

0 Read the Zsphere quick Guide (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/showcase/getthumbs.shtml?0_ZSphere_Tutes&linkall)
1 Don't press the Alt Key :)
2 Press the shift key give you the 90° plan
Hope this help :)

Hi, aurick
I was talking about constrain 'one Zsphere' in only one axis, not the whole ZSphere hierarchy. And Pilou, good point on shift, I do read the quickguide, and in R mode, it doesn't mention using ALT to create child branch yet.

I use Alt to delete the unwanted zsphere. and sometimes I wrongly pressed it and lost the mirron symetry mode. Not just missing the M button, it is hard to explain, will send sample if I find it soon.

Thanks.

I agree with user! The symetry in Zspheres is very slippery. usually after the second or the third sphere I add, the symetry is no longer functions. I think there should be an option to apply a "local" symetry which will deal with only the sphere that one wants to deal with. this will be very helpful for zspheres whose forms arent symetry. or there can be an option to change the center of the symetry from the root zsphere to any other sphere. am I talking nonsense?

You can change the center of symmetry by moving the model in the Object Preview window. (Use the Offset deformer.)
With the "slippery symmetry", there's a Davey script that fixes something like this, but I've never used it, so I'm not sure if it'll help here. :)
