View Full Version : question
is it possible to change the brush shape when modeling? Alphas wont work. The edit fade off curve graph is a little hard to use. ALL i get is a ring with a circle inside. Is the fade off curve the only way i can accomplish this? If so, anyone have a good tut about the grahp? thanks
Your modeling tool is always a circle. The graph basically affects how hard the edge of your modeling tool is. At its default setting, it's pretty soft with the majority of the editing happening at the center of the circle (represented by the right side of the graph). Very little is happening at the outer edge of the circle (the left side of the graph). By changing the graph settings, you can change the intensity throughout the cirle to suit your needs.
There IS a way that you can use an alpha to affect your modeling. Make a stencil out of it! Your modeling strokes will be constrained by the stencil, just as paint strokes would be when in 2.5D mode.
EDIT: I've just created a tutorial for you in ZScript form that shows the Transform graph at work, and also uses an alpha as a stencil to constrain your modeling.
Download TransformGrid-Alpha.txt here. (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1014524944ecl.txt)
Incidentally, this script makes use of the new Pause/Delay routine that Davey introduced a few hours ago. Hope it helps!
it depends what your doing you can shape any 3D object and that will be your Brush but not when modeling.
using the
(3Draw) in here http://www27.brinkster.com/ezbrush/mainTools.html
if you want to see a small sample how it works you can go here http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1014428303tyg.zip
if you just want to change the circle you can go to the (draw) pallete and adjust Width and height and you need to be out of edit mode when adjusting it.
you can change how many points or curser you want once in edit mode go to TOOL,MODIFYERS,SYMMERTY
