What do you find the most effective way to litter a ground on the canvas with leaves?..as in like a fall day? thanx :tu: coz when I do a pic I end up getting asked where are the leaves on the ground at? I say there was a storm and they all blew away ;)
Hi Ron this is what I would do:
select a 3D plane, nock its mesh value up to give you greater detail, and then using TM i would use a variety of alphas to paint leaves onto the plane, once this is done you can add colour bump to give it that three dimensional effect, maybee some noise. Once you have positiones your plane you can then use the 3D circle to make some leaf tools to drop on the top or even have floating around. Hope this helps!

I always think of the image hose in Painter for this but recently someone made the excellent observation that it is possible to make some various leaf tools and hose them on using the appropriate draw mode.

that sounds pretty kewl, Arran..I appreciate that...and will have to try my hand at it...I thought of just doing an alpha leaf brush and putting them around on the ground but it just didnt look right just doing that...I shall give your method and Thels a whack though.. :tu:

Here is something I knocked up very quickly, I know it's crap but you get the general idea. ;)

Young Impending had a cool thread called Size Matters (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001572)
which is pretty unforgetable!
Otherwise, create a leaf shape and scatter it around the ground object via the drag-dots stroke - makeing sure the center of object point is at the bottom of the leaf obj.
There was my old feathers tutorial (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003144) that may also help....
Upham :)
