Hi everybody :D

Since the post from the beta test had been appearing im very very interested in those wonderful details we'll soon can do (obviously the most experienced ones, not me..) So i've tried to make something in that could look similar and i got the oldman's fever, i'm posting here one of my tests that i like. I invite u all to post here your ancient characters if ur feeling the same virus as me :)

Come on!

My polys arent very soft, but i think ill get some experience while using zb...

there's a slider in the tool->modifiers TAB called Divide (not the deformations tab Divide , another one).

Raise the value of that one and your polygons wont be so visible anymore.
it could also be the fact that smooth is on 0 instead of 1.

Nice update nAAAx! I love where those ears are located. :tu: Thanks also for the compliment. Mine still has definite issues. It's not nearly as good as some of the heads coming out these days, but I appreciate the compliment. :D

if you are talkign about the glass in the old mans glasses...I would take and make my head and do a best render then do a Ctrl B to bake the image....take a material then like the jelly bean material and use that for the glass...you then can mess with the sliders in it to help with the transparency while still in edit mode with the glass....but I would definitely do the glasses on a sep layer...it will make life alot easier for ya.....have fun...hope this helped some

Hi nAÄAx, that head is really looking good now. The glasses and hair helped alot. Looking really good :tu:

If the glass is seperate from the glass frame then you should Mark each glass piece, undo them, and do a best render+bake as Ron suggested. Do the best render+bake with anything that will appear behind the glass, in this case not so much, but hair and all the 2d 2.5d detail should be in the picture before you put the glass (You basically want everything but the glass in it's finished state).

Next just click the markers for the glass and enter move/edit/rotate mode. Now you should deactivate Draw ::lock RGBZ . This enables you to lower the RGB Intensity without lowering the Z Intensity. Choose a material, preferably something shiny and slightly reflective, like the jellybean material Ron suggested. Lower the RGB intensity and play with the material modifiers; Diffuse curve,Reflectivity, High Dynamic Range and Gel Shading are good for starters.

Also remember that since you baked the image you can change the position(s) of the light(s) to suit the glass and not have it effect the rest of the image.

And as a final touch you can change Draw ::Refract Intensity and Draw ::Refract Blur to give it that little extra realism. But remember you still have to be in transformation/edit mode to use Draw ::Refract Intensity/Refract Blur.

Looking forward to your next update. Great heads all around :tu: :tu:

Edit:
Here is a link to a somewhat similar explanation as above but with a picture to go with it. I wish my long term memory worked a bit better ;) aquí (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010954)
