Hi all!

I'm new here in the Zforums and just wanted to share pics of my first Zbrush made sculptur. I'm a real noob in Zbrush, got the program for 2 days ago and started modeling "something" and ended up with this: (see pic)

PS: I'm having a real hard time painting and rendering the sculptur. So if anyone knows any tutorials about that, please share!

Hi there King D and welcome to ZbrushCentral! Nice job after two days. The head of the bat looks nice too. :tu:
There are many videotutorials about painting and texturing on the pixologic homepage, so look them up. About making a good looking render: don't know about tut's in this area, but maybe this will get you started:
-Start Zbrus, and in 'Document' choose a large canvas size (say 1280x960) then click 'double' in the same panel.
-Now click the AAHalf button on the right of your canvas. This compresses the canvas size giving you a higher resolution and nice antialiasing.
-load and drag your Vampire on the canvas.
-play with the placement of your lights in the "Light" panel until you are happy with it and click on the 'shadow' tab in the same panel.
-increase the shadow intensity, length, and especially: Rays. Increasing the number of light-rays gives you softer and more real shadows. Try something between 70 and 130.
-in the "render" panel activate 'shadows' and click 'best'. This will optimize the render.

You should now get a high quality render. Just play with the light and shadow settings a while to understand what they do. If the shadows are to soft, lower the 'aperture' number for sharper shadows. This is just a general guideline, but it should get you on the way making a nice render.
Hope this helps, and have fun learning Zbrush!

Thanks for the tips! I'll try that, but you know, yesterday when i rendered the Vampire the eyes gloss were gone, then when I chose "Preview" they went normal. So that pic is without any render - only preview. Maybe that's because of the lightning settings - I'll try all that later.

Again, thanks!

PS: You see that the wings are low poly, I don't know what to do, becuase under the "Tool" menu, the "Divide" button are gone. The head and body look good but I'm not happy about the wings. Know what to do about it?

Missing the divide button has happened to me in the past, but I still don't know why it happened... anyone??
