View Full Version : New to Zbrush...
Been playing around on Zbrush now for a couple of weeks.... And just doodled this model.
Just trying to get my head around all the different techniques.
Any Tips on how I can get my head more organic looking...? As it seems a bit cartooney.

Cool head .. welcome.
Best suggestion I can make is general rather than specific. Take your sub-d level way down low, hit 'X' for symmetry, and play with the move tool. You'll probably be surprised at how different a model can look with a bit of tweaking. Some moves will look less 'realistic', and some will look more 'realistic'. It's all good learnin'.
Another idea that can be very instructional is to take some screen shots of your model and over-lay actual photos of heads in your graphics prog. Compare the anatomical differences between your model and a real head. Can be a bit of an eye-opener.
Good luck.

It looks like you're making good progress.
Try and concentrate on massing out the bones in the lower subdivisions before going up to high detail levels. For example on the this guy there are no cheek bones and very little jaw bone in place. His head also looks like it doesnt have any hard structure underneath it
Somthing I was told that I found very helpful is that as you step up subdivisions the changes you make to your mesh should get smaller and smaller. In other words the bone structure should be inplace in your lowest subdivision
I hope thats of some help:p
thanx guys.... i will give it a shot...
