hey this is pretty good! How'd you do the fur details on the top of his hood? Its nice how the edges can be seen.

thanks for the reply cok3. I did it simply by masking the area where i wanted it then inverting then applying noise and inflate then a little size to make it have the more jutting effect unfortunately i did the bottom first and didnt do it the same way i just added nose and inflated. Im trying to figure out how to make nice seems so i can add some details to the hood and collar area.

What base mesh did you start with, or is it 100% Zbrush?

Sorry im not going to get to do anything today I ended up needing to finish off some renders that I thought had finished. Ill be sure to catch up tomorrow
jit_gohil I used a basemesh i found on this forum awhile back that ive made a few changes to and reUved
this is what it looked like before
wires.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:zb_insimg%28%2734319%27,%27wires.jpg%27,1,0%2 9)
and this is after
wires2.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:zb_insimg%28%2734320%27,%27wires2.jpg%27,1,0% 29)
so the geometry really isnt ideal for the sculpt but with zbrush many things become possible I have maybe 5 different topolgies that ive worked out over the last year or so. I just pick one and go with it. I like this one because the guy who made it kept the geometry light. Ill try and find the thread i got it from.

sure troy ill make a script if you'd like. I dont know how much more I can offer, I'm no master just a passionate noob.
I didnt get around to making a new head but I made this which is actually where i was originally heading when I started this head before I took it a different direction.
my friend had me look at old magic the gathering cards to look for ideas. I hadnt seen alot of them for years I quit playing awhile ago while i was in Middle School. I saw one called Memory lapase that I thought would make good practice.
i used an ice shader i downloaded awhile ago for it

Here is a selfportrait I was working on. I was trying to record this one but zbrush crashed like 3 times when I tried to resize my brush  . so maybe the next one will have better luck.

This might be (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=23618&page=4&pp=20)just what ya need instead of zscript.
keep up the good "newbie" work.....ya seem to have some experience elsewhere in 3d so definitely look forward to what zbrush adds to your toolbox.
keep going! and let's see that self-portrait taken all the way!

Thanks Aminuts, thats a pretty neat little plugin there. I only have experience from school and Ive only been studing art and 3d seriously for about a year or so. So Id classify myself as an intermediate noob lol.
Ive started practice on an arm shoulder study I figure Ive done quite a few heads so I should start focusing on other parts of the body.
as always let me know what you guys think C&C are always welcome.
Arm.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:zb_insimg%28%2735870%27,%27Arm.jpg%27,1,0%29)
Timelapse.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:zb_insimg%28%2735871%27,%27Timelapse.jpg%27,1 ,0%29)
Im still going to do a script but I kind of have bad work habits and I alt tab out of zbrush alot and the scripts keep crashing mid way through when i play them.

It looks really lumpy and the muscles shapes are not quite there yet. The overal form looks okay though. Are you using references? A good way of finding muscles is draw in the lines of the muscles, smooth that out, and inflate the area next to the lines. Just keep in mind each muscle have at least one bulge point, or where the fibers of the muscle are thickest. Also the attachment point points are thinner so this is more likely to result in the muscle looking properly stretched or contracted.

Thanks womball I started over and came up with this. I have reference but I dont usually have it right in front of me when I work though I know better than that.

That looks a lot better. The forearm is atrophied though it should be larger. Its not that much smaller than the upperarm.
