Topic is Zspheres

Jason, Thank you for the tut, was nice. this is absolutely my first time experiencing zbrush.. i lokked at it and played with it a couple of years ago. but im really tryin to learn something this time. I been looking around the site here and its hard to find a complete noob tut. yours is informative but the basic actions you were doing is what i need to learn first... is there a link or a place that explains what all the different tools do?
Thanks again. I cant wait to be familiar with the app enought to try to create my own rolly polly guy. oh.. and ill make sure not to add a sphere once i start modifying . :) lol

Using mac osx 10.4.7 with latest quicktime player. I've downloaded the techsmith codec but the video still has no picture only sound. Any suggestions.
Does anyone else have it working on a mac?

Yeah, mac can play wmv with the Flip for Mac plug, which I have installed, but it still won't show anything but sound.

I wrote to Techsmith and this is the reply I received...
The EnSharpen codec is a codec that is used for the Quicktime .mov format. There is no way you could have a WMV file that uses the EnSharpen codec. WMV uses there own type of codec, usually not something that's offered by a third-party company.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
AJ
TechSmith Support
EDIT, I have just had another reply back from techsmith and they are adamant that it is not possible to use the ensharpen codec with a wmv file.
The original file is a wmv file and the codec link is to ensharpen, so I was wondering if you have put the wrong codec link in perhaps?

Ya I stated that in one of my older threads just wasn't sure. Glad sombody actually asked the techsmith peeps. Well anyway might want to go with media player 9. I re-uploaded it just in case and tested it on three machines.
The link at the beginning of this thread is old incase thats the problem

Jason, I'm obviously missing something here. The link on your page is still to the 'ensharpen' codec and the movies on your site still download as .wmv files, and techsmith say that they don't make a codec for wmv. So I'm still a bit confused as to this codec business. How are you using ensharpen with wmv? I've tried the WMP for mac which also only plays soundd and no picture.

Have you tried downloading it on a pc?
As far as the link goes if you have read any of the other forums I have had alot of people say it helps. Not sure, don't care if its the truth or not but if it gets them up and going leaving the link is not hurting anyone. Besides if the makers of camtasia are the ones you talked too / emailed. If their program is as good as their staff that made it (ps it sucks) I wouldn't hold their word on anything.
Only reason I use it is because I love the udder flustration. ;) Not sure how to make your MAC play it but try a pc. I even used my labtop to download it to see if it worked. It's about as old and cripled as a mac so a mac should handle it . lol

I am on a PC and they just won't work. I have downloaded and installed the codec and I followed your instructions and for the life of me I cannot get them to play.
I had looked forward to checking them out, but so far no go.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b446ae53-3759-40cf-80d5-cde4bbe07999&displaylang=en
install and reboot then click here
http://download.techsmith.com/tscc/tscc.exe
then try playing this one first because this one I have tested the most on my pcs I have in the house
http://www.houseoftutorials.com/3Dtutorials/zbmodeling101_01.wmv
sorry but the only way to fix this is to make sure we're on the same page;) Not doubting your skills but first download these. I've had alot of good reviews so far on the files. Only a couple say they don't see video or dont hear audio. but this usually fixes it.
If anyone else is reading this mind testing the link in this post to see if it works on your end?
dogbone

If it's the tscc codec then it appears that they don't make one for mac.

a good beginners tut. I didn't know about needing to dial in more levels then returning to an earlier one. Is this really necessary?
thank you for converting the tut to avi, i was able to download and play in vlc.
us mac users have always struggled with wmv files

Heres the color wheel trick the digital shading was a complete failure as far as AVI goes. I think I'm going to redo it anyway do to the fact I have learned alot more since then.
Anyway heres the link to the color wheel trick for mac users
