Hello Z-team!

I was playing with TextureMaster, and have a couple of no doubt dumb questions.

First, some time after midnight when I couldn't keep awake any more, I saved the 3D object I was texturing as a .ztl file. When I reloaded it the next morning, it seemed to me that much of my texture detail had been lost. Could that be the case? Why does that happen?

Following along with the TextureMaster tutorial (wonderful thing!), I unwrapped my texture to work on it further. Since the recommendation was to resize the canvas to the exact size of the texture, I resized my canvas and oops! found that the texture grew right along with the canvas and still overlapped the edges. I tried to resize the canvas first, before loading my .ztl object, and then "unwrap" the texture, but found that in this case too, it expands to overlap the canvas.

What do I need to do to get my canvas size the same width and height of the texture? And not lose any detail when I reopen my .ztl file?

Thanks for any advice, and for the multitudes of help in the tutorials and postings.

I dont know the specific answers, but i'm sure they can be found in the quicklinks. I do know that quite a number of things lower the quality of the texture, but in a previous post i believe aurick said that was fixed in 1.5. I haven't used texture master much since getting the upgrade so I dont know.

btw Welcome to the Forum :D

I can't help you with the loss of detail. But here is how to unwrap your texture to the canvas:

1. Go to the Texture Palette and find your texture.

2. Find the Width and Height of your texture.

3. Change your canvas size to match that in the Document Palette.

4. Select your texture.

5. Press CTRL + F, or use the fill button in the Layer Palette.
