This started out in 1.23b. What it is, well that I can't say. Made use of a variety of alphas and the inflate deformer for the "rock" formations and forground. Good ole sphere - everyone remember the sphere tool? Anyone? - used it for the egg.
No ZSpheres in here yet.... is that bad of me? not using a Zsphere? I feel awful now....

:D

This is GREAT Mr. F, and that's exactly the same thing I'm doing...Bringing a 1.23b image into the new age!

We have to maintain the traditions for the young ones I figure... :D

Fantastic job on the rocks! :tu:

Wow! I can't wait to see the owner of that egg. Wonderful organic and natural shapes and gritty textures.

Thank you for the comments.
I'm still adding in bits of stone; thinking of adding in some fiberbrush here and there.
As far as any sort of creature, I don't know. The scale of the egg pretty much prevents me from creating anything large enough to have produced the egg...lol

Another image using the same approach to rocks. I should have mentioned this before: Much of the texture was achieved through the use of rusted metals painted on. It's just about my bed time, but I'll post the material and texture - if anyone is interested. Oh yes, and the alpha as well. Which was an image of a cloudy sky.

Very moody and brooding (no pun intended). The modelling and texture of the stump are superb. :tu: :tu: :tu:

Every few days, I drag this one out again. Then I sit and stare at it for a while, do a "test render" with the image virtually unchanged - and wonder why the heck am I doing that???
But then, probably because I did stare at it so darn much, I thought, hey, why not, oh gee, do something with it!

Excellent update. I guess you are going to start a trend in the revival of old images, which is a good thing. :) :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

I can't help but love this. It is exactly what I think of when someone mentions the fantasy genre. The addition of Momma Dragon is magnificent. I love the way the nest follows the assumed shape of her head. If you don't mind one suggestion, I'd love to see a very dim radial sun on this image. It will pick up the edges of the various elements, making them stand out a bit more. But, without the lighting, it is still one of the best images I've seen in a long time. :tu: :tu: :tu:

Thanks for taking a look at this one. I've been draaagging my feet on it for a long time!
Slosh, good idea about a radial sun light. I'll give it a try.

What an amazing transformation. I agree with Slosh. There's so much detail here that a radial light would help bring out. That mound of pebbles is fantastic
