hey guys... I've been watching the board a long time... enjoying everybody's work... Now I'm trying some by myself and for an assignment for school...

but I have a problem.

I modeled something in Maya... but I actually need it in XSI... how do I import the model into XSI? I can't quite figure it out. I found out to get XSI to Zbrush but maya to XSI... can anyone help me out? :)

thanks

love all the work done here!

Save it/export it as .OBJ in Maya. XSI can read it. You might loose shader and texture information, but due to the fact that the UV's are transported correctly it's not more than the application of the shader and the texture filename. Not a biggie. If you import in XSI 4.2 then take care to switch of the 'import user normals' or your model is black and you post that as your enxt question...
Good luck

thanks :-). I thought I needed to export is as .obj but I just can't find where... if I click "export" I can only choose MayaAscii or MayaBinary?
