What A great Job you have done ! Congratulations. :tu: the Elephant looks very good modeling Texturing and Lighting. The Aviator the same those are my favorites Not that the others aren't good. I want to ask you how did you do the beard on the aviator? and the in the Elephant When you render it, did you use Disp Maps or Normal Maps?

Thanks for sharing.

:D Very Nice reel Ive seen most of these guys before, obviously the aviator model cause it was on the top row but the samurai guy too. Definately very nice style I especially like the elephant because of the cartoony aspect with the Realistic render. It went top row without a single post so you know thats good. :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Very nice work. I especially love the music. Tank is one of my favorite Bebop tunes, and Cowboy Bebop is my all-time favorite Anime series. :D

Great work - good luck and thanks for showing.

Great reel! I love the fact that your work embraces cartoon-style models; it's a nice break from all the monsters. Realistically speaking, there's probably more market for that type of work than Horror/SciFi, anyway.

I wish you well in your job search. Keep us posted!

I am really impressed with what you have here. I am most impressed with the elephant--the only dissappointment was that it isn't animated. I was hoping to watch it do a sleepy blink, yawn and scrunch into the tree a little--but I have a vivid imagination so I'll settle for that...

However, the samurai seems to have issues. First, great job with the small details like the bandage on the leg. also, I was impressed with the number of pieces you used to create the final model.

The problem is his sword...or rather, swords. he has a katana in his right hand, and one sheathed in the scabbard at his left hip. he doesn't have a place to put the sword he has in his hand.

Thank you everyone for the great support and feedback. I am really happy you guys enjoyed my reel.

Flaco - Thanks man. I created the beard with XSI hair, using cutmaps and density maps. The elephant didn't have any displacement or normal maps on him. I modeled him all by hand, but a lot of those nitty gritty details are from the bump map which I created in Zbrush. The tree was done in Zbrush though and exported as true geo.

dogbone - the low res quicktime is larger because it uses sorenson vs. the superior quicktime 7 H264 codec. Funny enough is that it looks way better and is way smaller in file size.

Warpy - thanks man, I used the aviator painting as reference and really tried to make sure it worked at all angles, CONSTANTLY overlaying my 3D model ontop of the image to make sure it had the shape. I made this model to show that I could take a concept that someone else made in 2D and transfer it to 3D. I am flattered you think it looks 100% identical to the concept.

kevphil - I am glad you liked the style. I wanted to try to do something a little different. I hope there is a market for it =)

Jhikar - Thanks, I wanted to animate the elephant. Actually I wanted everything in the reel to be animated. However, I needed to focus on a certain aspect and that is / was modeling. As far as the samurai, I know its a little hokey and he isn't accurate, but was trying to play the artistic licensing card ;).

bryn - thanks for the support man. you were a huge influence!

THANKS AGAIN!
