Here is a model I am currently working on... The tutorials are EXTREMELY helpful but I wish they would feature alot more tricks and information on aspects other than using the modeling tools. There are some things that you guys do that I still can't work out but I hope hanging around here will help me develop.http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y224/aaronv2/OldGuy2.jpg
This was the initial sculpture. I really liked how horrible and lumpy it started out but then others said it was unrealistic so...

I slimmed down the models curves a bit reworked it some more and kept at it until I finished the model that Im mostly happy with...

Hey Aaronv2,
I know sometimes it's hard sometimes when few people post something on your thread, but you have to consider that it's a HUGE community and there are so many new post being "posted" all the time. Also that there are A LOT of people that almost never post something, just looks around without leaving a trace -I include myself in that group-

Now, regarding your model, I have to agree with you, I like the "lumpy one" more. It has more presence, more character. That's just my opinion.
You have to notice the difference between a personal comment, a contructive advise and what you want. If you liked the lumpy one, then you should have continued with that one... of course, it's not very realistic and you probably noticed that... but you liked that about it... so get back to it ;)
If veryone would have stop at the first "it's unrealistic", imagine all the great things we would have missed

Regarding the model -again- I think it's pretty cool and has potencial... the only thing that bothers me is the eye socket, where the eyebrows and the cheek meet. There is a void between them and it looks ackward.
Another thing would be the botom of the nose, between the nostrills, it's kinda thin for the nose mass.
And the poor guy could use a mouth :D

Remmember Aaron... youre doing this stuff because you love it, and by doing so, that should be enough... you don't need approval to know you're on the right track... unless your working for someone else :p

Thanks for sharing, take care

aaronv2, Hey sorry I missed this.

It's easy to do, so many things being posted that unless you live on here

you'll surely miss a few.

I think this is a great start.;)

Don't be discouraged, use reference.

It's imperative that you train your eye to the distinctions of form and how forms flow into each other.

Also step away and judge volume.

I still refer to reference everyday in my work.

I think You are headed in the right direction.:tu:

I look forward to seeing where you go.

Good Luck.

Cheers
