View Full Version : How to use the cavity feature for texturing (new script)
I want to share this little 4min-script, showing a way how to use the cavity-feature for texturing through Projection-Master.
I hope it works since this is my first recorded script an I started about 5 times... :)

Froyd:
Thanks for the script. I had not really thought of capturing the cavity effect in PM. Interesting possibilities.
A. VERY nice mix of materials - one of your better efforts :tu:

I re-ran your zscript when you got the draw in edit mode I stoped the zscript and began drawing in the edit mode then I re-ran your zscript without intalizing it and ran it to about where you started painting then I added a 3dsphere with flat alpha and drew a 3dsphere in it all in edit mode and applied Projection drop to and then added a texture and came up with this ztool :)

hey looks interesting =)
maybe you should smooth the left part to avoid the polygon-distortion... :)
I try to upload the result-pic of the second script, but i alwasy get this error:
<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>The following file was not stored because the
program could not open its destination file(s):

whats wrong here?
I also got a blank site sometimes, but only with this thread...

This looks very cool!
perhaps someone that has had sucess could help.
I am haveing trouble catching the steps in your zscript.
How are you able to "bake the layer and stay in edit mode?
also are you switching to
Flat material, or are you increasing the light 1 ambient to 100 on the basic shader?
thanks!

Hi sadicus!
before you bake, drop the model using PM, then render best, then bake, then pick up... thats it :D
I dont use the flat material, i only turn off all lights and slide ambient to 100 - just like you said...
You´ll need a material where you can add cavity - flat won´t work.
hope this helps :)

Royally sucks that it's view dependant. Would have been cool to have it bake the whole model at once.
