Hi Milk
The Glow brush must have a color under it.
Black color is "transparent"
Draw some colors around the street lamp with normal Brush and after apply glow brush !

Don't worry about posting lots of images, Milk. :) You got a great start here, so don't stop now!

About adding a glow to you lamps, you might want to try using the Colorize Glow material. You can adjust its properties for various sized glows. (Don't forget to Best Render it after you add the material.)

A glow effect can also be enhanced with lighting. For a relatively small light like a streetlamp I would recommend a point light. :)

Hmmm...and where shall these lights be...?

Hey can someone please tell me what the dots and stars mean next to people's names?
Thanks.

The Namek
09-29-02, 12:16 PM
They show the amount of posts a user has.
i'm not sure about this , but I think you get a grey dot for a number under 100 , an orange dot for every 100 posts , when you reach 1000 you get a star.

milk
09-29-02, 05:06 PM
Oh, i get it now. You don't have any yellers?

Gerlon
09-29-02, 06:05 PM
You have grey dots until you get 500 posts, then they turn yellow.

Some things I'd like to see in later versions of ZBrush...

:b3: 3D Mode
:b4: Nurbs
:b4: Vertexes
:b4: Shaping by Points
:b4: REAL QuadViews (altough, Aurick, your ZScript made my day!)
:b4: Grids! :)

I think an interesting 3D mode could make this program over the top! The Best!

Another thing I would like is a Main Toolbar like most programs (File [save, export, import], Edit [3D Mode :), Paint Mode, undo, redo, move...etc] and the list goes on..., but still keep the same bars....and have them moveable to the top and bottom the screen with drop down menus :)

But keep the program up because I LOVE IT!!

To me this may be the best program out right now. Keep up the GREAT work Pixologic. You guys have made this year the most worthwhile ever.

:tu: :tu: :tu:

I personally pray ZBrush doesn't end up with grinds, vertexes, nurbs and th rest of the junk that makes a 3d application to overly difficult to understand.

The attraction ot ZBrush is it's ease of use. Not it's comlication like Maya,or max. I say keep it simple yet powerfull. The way it works now.

You know thats funny..cuz I would like a nurbs style operation in ZB...and it might show up too...but don't worry. Live it up to Pixolator to make it easier then drooling in your sleep. If you think about it, ZB already has 2 types of nurb ops:
3D from alpha is kinda like extrude nurbs and we do have a Sweep profile 3D object that is just like a lathe nurbs. All we need now is loft and true sweep nurbs and its as capable as C4d and others...just about.
I would like to see SLA as a third party S4 shade option in the materials.

milk
09-30-02, 02:57 PM
No, all I'm saying is a nice neat 3D mode would be there. All the older stuff would be there (and I'm sure better). So it wouldn't make it any harder unless you wanted to use the 3D Mode. :)

09-30-02, 02:57 PM

Somebody hasn't watched the ZSphere ZScripts that come with version 1.5. :p

The first sphere that you drew (the root sphere) was the top of the head. This sphere is uncapped by default when the model is skinned. If you put another sphere at the opposite end of the root sphere, the model will be capped and you won't get that open end.

milk
09-30-02, 04:30 PM
Oh thanks :). I'll go watch that script now...

I zoomed in and couldn't get it back to normal, so that's why it might look bad to you.
