Excellent picture :tu: At first it seems like there is only subtle features added with zbrush but looking closer it appears all around. I am guessing of course. Love your other pictures as well.

More info on where Zbrush was applied would be appreciated.

very fine picture! the girl is in a very "sure" drawing, and I love the too big sword, which make the girl more "young"... bravo!

Who is chopping down the guard tower?

Just kidding. Fantastic image. I too would love to know what elements where done in which programs, and why.

The back ground especially looks like 2d painting. Am I corect?

If you have the time could you post images of your workflow?

Great work!

Hi Xavier. Great work! It looks real sweet.

I notice you mentioned you rendered it in Brazil. I love using Brazil for rendering too. I would be very interested in seeing anything you could post about the general rendering settings you used and whether you used the BCam or the standard Max camera in this image? Also, did you use a displacement map from ZBrush to be applied back in Max? If so, I would appreciate any info on what settings you used to get a good render using a displacement map from ZBrush. I've seen alot of info posted on the boards about Zbrush models in Max or Maya being rendered in Mental Ray or VRay but it doesn't look as if there are many people here using Brazil. Any info you can give would be appreciated.

Tantramancer,

I'm very new, so forgive my ignorance, but why are you rendering in brazil instead of the native Zbrush renderer?

This is my first delve into computer 3D so I'm really trying to learn.

Because of a few things, Curious: I'm more familiar with Brazil's renderer for one, Zbrush's renderer is nice but Brazil has the Brazil Skin Shader which produces some very realistic skin effects with great subsurface scattering which I really love using for characters, and while the ZBrush renderer can do some nice one frame renderings for illustration purposes - animated scenes requiring more than one frame of animation really have to be rendered in another package like Max or Maya. Maybe eventually ZBrush will have support for full scene animation like other packages but I don't see it being necessary. Zbrush is more of a specialized program that can do some fantasic modeling and some fair texturing and single frame rendering. Best that it stick with what it does best. I don't mind modeling a character in ZBrush then exporting to another program for skinning and animation.

I don´t agree, Tantramancer... look at some works and animations from Pixolator... :tu:
(there are more then one frames :D )

Keep cool :tu:

Waaaaaauw, mooi werk man :tu: :tu: :tu: hoe lang heb je er over gedaan?
Amazingly detailed suit and the sky is also incredible. She's from Amsterdam, isn't she(beautifully imbeded Dutch simbols in the suit), and who's the guy with the flashlight in the background :p ?
The gallery on your site is also one of the coolest I've seen so far and very inspiring!

Thanx for sharing :) , guess I'm gonna have to check out those render capabilities in Brazil now :D .

as always.. , that an awessome piece of art ..
and i really like the fact that you go for the "less is more " way concerning the zbrushing of your object ..
lot of detaill but not obviously exagerated

keep the good stuff coming please ..

could we see a wire ?

Thx for ur welcome, I'm new here. I discovered Zbrush 3 weeks ago and since this date i can't work without.

Fouad.B -> yes, shag hair it is :)

Cezar -> zbrush was used for the girl and the armor .. just the hair was done with shag hair.

TVeyes -> for the moment I'm a noob with zbrush and my first reflex was to create a low polygon with a classical modeler maya or max and export this to Zbrush.

Curious -> "Who is chopping down the guard tower?" he he :) this detail is specialy dedicate to your imagination.

Tantramancer -> hi, I use just the displace modifier of max to apply my disp map directly on the low poly. Sometime the result is better without disp map and directly with a real mesh specialy with some part of armor.
For brazil my setting is totaly common :) nothing of special.

Strike -> damn ça me fait super plaisir de te voir sur ce board :) J'espere que tu squates la souvent

U-Jin -> YES !!! ure the first to see this detail. The triple cross from amsterdam. I love Amsterdam. I'm arrived here to work in this country and Amsterdam is the best town that I have never seen before. Really cool, really quiet, fresh, a perfect place to draw, paint directly in the street near the canal ;) (Vondelpark is my favorite)
My character isn't dutch from amsterdam but it's just to wave the dutch people. It's important for me to put in my artwork some details of my life.
