View Full Version : toggling auto-hide of multi-marked objects?

hi there,

i created a base-head, marked it on the canvas, created a sphere3d for an eyeball, marked it as well, and drew both objects as one with the multi-marker-tool.

i entered 'edit mode' and while moving the eyeball around, the head gets hidden as long as i drag (the sphere).

is there a method to toggle off this behaviour? it's very difficult to position something right when all the other objects become invisible during drag? :confused:

I have remake that you do
No particulary problem ?

:: draw one Zphere for one (eye) (curious why not take just a 3D sphere ? :) Mark it! it's an one-eyed :)
:: Draw one object (the head)3D Mark it!
:: draw one second object(the neck) Mark it!
Ok I have 3 objects
:: I clear the screen (ctrl + N)
:: I take the multimarkers
I have my 3 objects
:: "Edit mode" all works as a charm :)
I can see all the time my 3 objects for move, rotate & size it :)
Good luck
Follow exactly that I made :)

well, that's exactly what i did! :eek:

somehow the head and all the other objects get hidden while moving the eye...as if it was 'dots display' without showing any wires.

Pilou: you are still using 1.55b? This was fine in 1.55b but is a problem in Z2.

The 'first' MMed object does disappear whenever you click the mouse button. There was another thread about it in the troubleshooting section.

I do agree that it makes organising objects difficult. If you intend to make a polymesh out of your head and eyes, you could try the method I outlined in the zscripts in this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=013708) (page 1, first post; and page 2, third post) - they show a way of moving parts around inside a polymesh.

BC,

I think you or someone else in that same thread suggested creating and marking a "dummy" first object, then the other objects all remain visible for indivudual positioning.

If you do this, you should probably anticipate the dummy object will be "snipped" after the final positions of the other objects are completed.

The dummy object can be added as the LAST object in the MultiMarker set, then press MARKER:Reorder to reverse the order of the marked objects making the dummy the first object.
