Here's a character I've been working on in my spare time for the last few months. (I posted some ZBrush model WIPs a few months ago, so he might look a little familiar). I wanted to try establish a character creation workflow, doing some things I've never done before like using displacement maps and subsurface scattering skin shaders, as well as to dig a little deeper into ZBrush , mental Ray, and normal mapping. I was hoping to create some armor or additional accessories, but I don't think I'm going to have time. Thanks to members Hezza and Scott Spencer for answering some of my questions I posted a while ago. Comments and critiques welcome.

personally, i'm not too fond of the texturing. it feels too uniform, and that there isn't enough color variation in there. it just feels like brown mush all over, rather than having any kind of warm skin tones or cool shadows anywhere. the lighting will help you out too, and i recommend playing with the lights if you're rendering from zbrush, or adding something other than the default lights if it's from another program.
