The shortcut for "bake" was CTRL-B on 1.55b...with Z2 is ... the same.

It used to be in the opened out view of the layers section - is it no longer there?

Hi Gabrie, there's a way to bake the cavity shader, from geometry that has a few subsivision levels. :)

After modelling a polymesh with multiple SubD levels, switch down to the first SubD level and create a displacement map.

Select the generated alpha and use the 'crop and fill' option from the alpha menu to create a new document from the alpha.
The alphas depth information will be transfered to the new doc.

Apply your cavity material to the canvass.

To isolate the cavity effect you'll need to reduce any diffuse shading. Set the ambient slider of the material to the maximum.

Best render the document with shadows off.

Now grab the render as a texture, then you can apply this to your object.

That's it- the cavity texture will look best on subdivided poly geometry. :tu:
