Hi :) Here is what I'm working on for a couple of days - "The Captain". As you know, he's the last person to leave the ship..

I have a problem with uploading..so you can see 1280*960 by clicking this link - http://www.z-brush.ru/exp.jpg
Really moody image, Strannik. Very creepy. My only crit is that the fog is so dense it's hard to see the Captain! Maybe you can bring it down a bit?
I love the mood...

Dickie, I agree with you, something this way will be better? It's just for a test, I'll work on it more carefully and add some details to the scene later.

EEERY ! My take on this image is the captain has gone down with the ship. The ship has sunk sometime ago and he is still at the wheel, decomposing. Powerful image ! Strong message. I like it, but it gives me the "willies" LOL ! the next to the last image i think is the best version. all colors are subdued as they should be. Like someone was diving an took this photo underwater. good job. rick w

Thats really nice. Not sure where your from, for some reason i'm thinking the nordic countries? This last version, i would think about getting printed , framed and put up in an Art gallery. It is a "dark" piece (The Mood), but a strong image.
In any country. This speaks of strong convictions, duty and death with unbreakable honor. Strong, really strong. Thanks for posting this. Your Art speaks and makes you think. You have achieved much here. rick w

thanks for your words, mate - they touched me, really! I'm really glad that you could read my mood in the image.
I live in Sochi (Russia) - it's a small town near the Black Sea.
And now I just want to fix some problems here...
Ok, now I should say that I really like it. Much better than the previous images you have posted and plus, one more suggestion, if you can, just to make it even more realistic... put some bubbles and small fishes swimming around.... but don't over do it... just little ones and little bubbles..... then submit it to cgtalk and go get an award for that. Make sure you write a good paragraph explain that "unbreakable honor".
One more thing... right under the head..... is that a mechanical arm ? LOL or what....... if you can, ONLY IF YOU CAN, make one arm and hand, holding a sword..... man................ if you can change that, I'm pretty sure you'll get on the top row here in the zbcentral and an award in cgtalk. I will definitely vote for you. Simply for your originality comparing to many works I've seen here which is based on the same topic, monsters and beasts and you have gone away from that circle. For that, I'll give you 4 stars... BUT, please change that and make an arm holding a sword or something....... that will ROCK even more!
Keep it up and congratulations again, you have gone above !

It's a great picture and captures the underwater feeling very well. I dive a bit and it feels correct!

midcgi - I'll follow your suggestions for sure ;) And instead of mech-hand I can do knights-hand, in armor you know.
lemonnado - cool to hear this
Ok forgetting the sword, when you do your arm with armor... remember to make the armor a bit rusty.... well for obvious reasons. Water + Metal = Rust! ;)
REMEMBER THIS VERY IMPORTANT, Remember the size porpotion your arm with your head..... I can see a problem that you might face there after creating your arm, size proportion matters....... let's see if you can manage that...
I am really looking forward to see the mega final piece.
Keep it up

Hi Strannik,
I really think that you are closing in and is getting so much better from the first time I saw your captain. It is really looking good. Real good I would say. Keep it up.
Well I am using midcgi1 as I don't know why I can't post any messages in the forum with midcgi. I am very sure that I didn't offend anyone with my jokes and constructive criticism.
Hey, where are the fished and the bubbles ;)
Keep it going dude ;) :tu:

You could add some fish or sea creature to give it more depth. But personaly, I'd stop right there. It's a very serene picture. Very calm, but with a message. I could picture the long structures softly swaying in a current with low key bubble once in a while. Perfect meditation picture 8-).
