This is a project that I have done using 99% ZBrush. It was modeled, textured and rendered entirely in ZBrush. Hair was done in PS. Any questions and comments are very appreciated. Always wanting to learn new ways of improving.

I basicallyplay around with layering different colors over each other starting with the base color being the darkestthen working another shade over the top of that one, then back over that layer again a bit more with a medium shade, and then tediously back over that again with some of the darker shades. The brushes that I use are the Nagel series 23 brushes. I highly recommend Google searching his brush sets if you are looking to add hair in post production for pictures or if you are looking to get great texture work or your ZBrush models. Thanks for the post.

Anyone care to critique this new sculpture? Any improvements you think could be done?

Jigsaw, mate, I have had a quick look at your self portrait. I like it.
I am only new to zbrush having just bought the programme after playing with the demo. It is one of the best artistic tools I have ever purchased.
Me, I am an artist and I specialize in photo realistic portrature however oil painting and not pixel-ating. Portraits can suggest so much but it is what the artists intention is that creates the full critical theorys. That being said I feel that unless a certain element was sort after then it is hard to critic.
In regards to your work, fantastic, I like it. Doing a self portrait will be a task I will be attempting over the next while also. So thanks for the motivation. One thing to aim for with perfecting is realistic self imaging. We know ourselves both inside and out. To perfect something that you are critical on is the hardest of all tasks.
Great stuff mate, but do you think there is more (or less) you could have done to it?

Itd be nice to see a pic of your face so we know what you really look like, Id say over all it looks pretty good.
We can give you better feedback if you post a pic though
I really like it. Your eyes look very realistic.
