if you model was orginally that dark gray color...perhaps those are just some spots you didn't quite cover when painting.

if painting over doesn't work.....trying making your texture a higher res...ie 2048x2048 instead of default 1024x1024.

either usually works for me.

It is set at 4Kx4K. The model was white.
(The texture background was white.)

ok there are two other things i do....one is a script...you can find in search.....seamaway that might work.

next is.....if you want a base color modify the material diffuse color.

next is.....take it to a prog like uvmapper and adjust the model and the map to you liking then reimport.

if none of those work....i am too tired to think of others at the moment!

I think those are the lines that were created when you painted the the front of the model. Projection Master is literally a projection on to your model. So, it can't go round corners and can get cut off at the edges.

Solutions:

Try to stay away from the edges of your model when painting. Change the angle to get at them.

Try clicking on fade in PM. It reduces this banding.

Hope that helps!

I had fade on. I played the PM scripted tutorial and the sphere it paints doesn't suffer from this banding and it paints right up to the edge of the sphere. The only thing different in the tutorial is that it uses "3d copy". I thought that was supposed to be automatic with PM. The script runs to fast to tell exactly what the hell is being done though :(

It is my understanding that PM is supposed to effect the alpha channel around edges and make them transparent. If thatis the case, those seams shouldn't be there. As you can see here, The transparent, faded part has turned grey for some reason.

these seem to be shading lines... .didnīt you check the shaded checkbox? If so, try doing it without checking it.

I only had colors checked!!

Do you have any custom settings on? Try hitting the standard settings in the corner of the screen. PM does do the 3d copy process automatically. That's not the problem.
BTW to slow down the zscripts, go into the zscript options in the top right.

Those dark edges are indeed caused by depth falloff and some may be caused by the arms (if you paint from the side in PM with the arms showing then you will get edges like that on the body behind the arms when you pick it up.) Three things you can do to alleviate this: 1) remove overlapping parts from your selection before texturing in PM, 2) Work in small areas face on...be careful of bleeding off the edges of the model or you will get hard lines, 3) Drop the model with PM and use the Smudge brush with only RGB selected, the spray stroke with a tight area setting, and a small brush size to smudge out the hard lines..this works like a charm.
