That's about the most amazing game I've ever seen, but There's 2 things I think that I may have problems with. One is that if you're just starting out and you have several other people who are very advanced ruling the universe, you wouldn't stand a chance of survival. You would have a few people ruling over everyone else, how then could you advance?
Secondly you know it would be a "pay to play" type of game which I would never go for.
Still, it's pretty facinating though.

I hope he says some more about it at the next Game Developer's conference. It's probably changed a lot over a year.

I also think it would be even cooler if Spore had the option to allow your creatures to evolve on their own via natural selection and mutation, but the version that was shown, I don't think had that option.

Yeah, that video is from GDC '05. It was just uploaded to Google Video recently, however.

I think it'll be real interesting to see what he has to show at GDC '06. :)

You should go to gamasutra.com and look under GDCtv -http://www.pqhp.com/cmp/gdctv/
they have a 1 hour video with Will explaining how the game works. It's not like MMORPGs where you pay a monthly fee. The universe contains all of the player made content that you can use, but it is a single player game.
