Meet Stix, my new ZBrush character. This is the first of many (hopefully) images of him I'll be creating until I finally reach my goal. He's a Scorpragon, a combination of a scorpion and dragon, and will eventually become somewhat of a hero. (I haven't worked out the story part yet :p). Right now, he's just a basic model without very much detail. That will change. I'm hoping to have it close to 50% completion before school starts. (Whoopee  how much fun...)

Anyway, his appendages at this state seem a little cluttered to me. I'll rework them into something more feasible. So much work needs to be done on him. Well, that's it for tonight. I'll have fun in the morning. :D If you have any suggestions, please tell me. I appreciate them. Thank you. :)
Hi Tish, looks like you are off to a great begining! I like this guy already! Keep us posted!
It appears as if you have a good grasp of the new tools already. I hope you will continue to share your updates with us :tu: :tu: :tu:
This model has alot of potential, I look forward to future updates :tu: :tu: :tu:

Oh, the thoughts are flying around in my brain lol. I am so excited about this one. He's no "No-Wings", that's for sure. :p Anyway, I've got an idea for a short story to go along with him. (Not too sure of the details right now, but it will be a good ol' action adventure) I am thinking up other characters to go along with Stix: his sidekick Izdabom (Female), his enemy Baddanmeen (Male), and who ever else. I'll be posting the almost-complete Stix soon, plus a few basic images of the others. Off to create! :D
Update:

Another update! Yippee! He's almost there. I'm making good progress. Maybe I'll finish before (grr) school. I added some claws on his hands and feet, and I added a splash of white here and there. This is so much fun! Well, I'll soon have the final version of Stix up probably tomorrow. (Oh, golf lessons. I'll have to wait until afterwards.)

The modelling has a really nice, almost dance-like rhythm...If I might make a suggestion, it would be to go into the Material modifiers, and put a 'High Dynamic Range' setting of about 1.5 on it...You might like the effect with all these 'swooping' curves... ;)
 :) :tu: :tu: :tu:

Well, here it is, the final image of Stix. This took a lot of work. It turned out completely different than I had originally planed. At first, he was going to be in a dark, high-tech looking room. But then, I changed that to Baddanmeen’s fortress. But I didn’t like that either. So, Stix ended up floating on a cloud holding up star spheres. It’s very nice, if I may say so myself. The stars and clouds were made with flat color and the brightness of the star spheres was achieved by using the highlighter brush. It made for a nice glowing effect. I used three lights in this image. Two normal sun lights and one radial light. Posing Stix was another dilemma seeing as how I couldn’t figure what I wanted him to be doing. After that, I added his eye. Trying to ad a little touch up before I rendered the image, my electricity went out for one minute. And I didn’t save! Well, it wasn’t too bad. I had already saved the document and hadn’t done too much. So, after rendering it, I took it into Photoshop just to smooth out a few spots, and added just a bit more brightness to the star spheres. So, Stix is now complete and I can’t wait to start working on the others. Please give your comments on what you think. Is it good? Is there any place I can improve? I would appreciate any comments. Thank you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. :D (Not bad work, huh? Hee, hee. I LOVE ZBrush. :p)
Yes, you may say so yourself! This really turned out great, Tish. Even better than I expected. The claws are awesome.
