Models will need to be 4-10million polygons so we can get displacement maps of it to convert to bump maps within the game and also so we can get it into maya to do a enviromental lighting and texture baking so we can create a texture off of your high res model. This mod is a great way to get some portfolio pieces for yourself. Im not getting any money for making this mod so i dont expect to pay you anything either. But this is a great way to show off your work in a game which will have killer graphics. If you want to know about the game chk out the website for it where i am having it temporarily hosted till Gamespy hosts it.

Hope To have you on the team.

Its for the texture and normal map. Models will need to be detailed down to fine wrinkles and if you have the time perhaps even down to the last pore.

To my knowledge, Half Life 2 does not use such detailed normal maps. Do the models that come with HL2 use normal maps at all? I've only looked at the combine elite, but that one seemed devoid of any normal maps too...

yep, hl2 dont use so mush details in normalmaps, but I think they want high details models to base diffuse textures on it...

HL2 Main characters are using about 6000 Polys

And HL2 character doesn't use so much Normal Map unlike Quake 4 !

Do you know if Source Engine can handle a low poly character ( about 4000 Polys ) combine with a very detail zBrush normal Map ? Without real time rendering problems ?

Half-life 2's source engine can support a normal map up to 2048x2048 which is plenty for a normal map. Also it doesnt have a max poly count. It just kind of defines the max poly count off your computers preformance.
