As a multimarker-aholic I was thrilled to hear you could make them from composite meshes in 1.5. I decided to experiment and document my results.

It appears you can make Multimarkers now out of composite meshed objects as well as skinned objects. It doesn't appear you can skin a Multimarker Object without first turning it into a composite mesh though.

I'm not sure about the result using ZCut; I thought it would work. These are just my experiments playing with multimarkers, and there may be different steps you can take to get different results.

Interesting experimentation Tami, and thanks for posting the result... :tu: :tu: :tu:

This is very interesting. I think it would allow us to create more complex objects, such as an engine, by piecing parts together with multimarker, then adding, and adding, and adding.

Thanks for the experimenting!

Tami, have I got a question for you, you Multimarker a holic. I am trying to create some butterfly wings. I create the first wing by drawing on the canvas, capturing the alpha, and making a 3d object from it. Here's your part. Clear the canvas, then I draw the first wing on the canvas using the new 3d tool, multimark, snapshot, postition until, they look like wings on a butterfly, multimark, then draw the multimarked object on the canvas. When I do this, the wings are both facing the same direction. I will try to get a picture up soon to demonstrate fully, but do you have any initial ideas about what I am missing? TIA!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I hope the information is helpful.

DMerchan, the only thing I can think of right off hand is if you're using the deformation, mirror function on the snapshotted wing. That would cause the wing to flip the opposite direction and in 1.23 (haven't tested 1.5) it would cause the first wing to change flip as well unless you save both under different names. If you can post a picture it would be great.

I did do the deformation mirror, but I saved them under two different names. I must have just messed up somewhere. From what you are telling me, I think I was on the right track, just messed something up. Thanks for the assist, and the experiment. It will truly come in handy!

DMerchan, what I do when doing that is before doing the mirror deformation, I press the "clone" button. Then you place the mirrored object on your canvas and place a marker for it. That way, you have two separate objects, one the mirror of the other.

I saw that you got the butterflies done DMerchan. Glad to see it. Thanks for the tip about using clone WingedOne :D

Yep, it was just me. Two separate wings and a body does the trick! Thanks for the help. :D
