This is a real mix of stuff. I started with a plain head model from Poser5, and changed the features to have her look like Tapal. Rendered her and exported her to photoshop. Changed her into a psd and imported her into Zbrush. Built the background on another layer in Zbrush and used Jaycephus's technique for painting hair for her hair and eyebrows. Then I added a tunic that I modelled and textured in ZBrush. And there she is! Hope you like her.

:D I am getting pretty good at altering already made heads, next I need to start practicing more with modelling from scratch.

major droolies to these eyes...she is one very hot character and you did her great justice with your render. If you get in the mood, Donna, try a 7 of 9 also.....another of my fantasy women :) :tu: :tu: :tu:

I am curious why you didn't take the basic head into Zbrush and work your magic on her there?
She looks good though! Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys!
Ron, I will see what I can do :p
aminuts, I am not sure why I suppose I could have except I was thinking that in order to apply the hair you can't be working on a 3D model it has to be flat like a painting. I could have exported her to ZBrush then to photoshop and back I guess, just seemed like an extra step.
:D

Hi NorthStarr
Have you seen the two hair threads that have popped up here? Both methods on their own and together seem to fill most hair needs. As always some experimenting to get the look you are looking for is in order....but that's all the fun in Z! ;)

Cool! :tu:
You could bring in all the 3D items, and modify, texture, place, and light them. Then you would either export a .psd and import it back into a different layer or document, or else you could use the MRGBGrabber to capture a texture and apply that to a plane, using the flatshader, on a different layer.
Finally, you would paint your hair on the '2D surface' in ZBrush. Then the background would show properly through the strands and fly-away hairs.
